MR - Not sure which visa office. If its ottawa then not sure when because for many they did not send and for some they sent. Its not regular like CIO where there will be couple of weeks difference than other applicants dates but now unpredictable timeline territory starts I guess.

Here is Medical Instructions:

Doctor will send your medical result to its destination and you only need to do your Medical exams and just wait until your result received by your local visa office!

I raised this question because when i called the local panel doctor few months ago, he sent me some (his own) registration form which asks for IME or HAP ID#. So did you receive IME number?
What information you gave while scheduling your medicals?
I am trying to see if i can do medicals before their request. Any negative points in doing it? Yes if its going to be 16 months waiting time for ottawa then i had to do medicals again. Other than that will visa officer get angry?

After EP stage it looks like it all depends on the visa office hence its going to make huge difference in timeline from now on. So either its going to be fast or long long wait for testing our BP. So let us get the medicals done soon so it wont be an issue .

You will not receive any email for ECAS activation. As you said, you should check once a day(If you are patient enough!!! ) to see when it is active.

When you receive your Medical Request, they will attach one PDF file with two pages inside, the first page is exactly what I posted before and it is Medical Instruction and the second page is FORM IMM1017E and they have inserted your information like Name, Address, ... in that form and you will find your 8 digit IME number with its Bar-code in that form too.
I think Medical appointment doesn't need anything special and it can be set only with one phone call and providing only name and family.
I guess, you will receive your Medical Request in November.
For sending your PCC, you should wait until your file receive by your local visa office and then you can send your PCC with courier to that office with a cover letter indicating your UCI & File number.
For doing your medical upfront, I suggest you to wait until you receive your Medical Request because you will get your IME number and it helps your medical result receive by CIC correctly.

Hi Guys, Sorry if m going off the topic but I have an query for which I couldn’t find any thread.. Volunteers please help:

I was on a 3 yr Post graduate open work permit that expired June 19, 2015.
Presently I’m on implied status as I’s for extending work permit with my current employer (closed work permit) based on my PNP nomination (AINP) in June, 2015. And recently I got AOR for my PR application to CIC. My question is – now that I have AOR while the closed WP application still in process, can I call/email CIC to change that application to Bridging open work permit?

Experts please help.

One doctor's office here asked only for UCI. Other 2 doctors' office asked for IME if available. If not they said they will create one. So i hear different numbers needed by doctor's office.

Yes its confusion if we send it now and not sure if it will get attached correctly to my file. I will wait for a while till my patience runs out. :
But medical request is not yet issued for all Feb applicants itself hence not sure when it will be for May month applicants and my zone is cpc ottawa i guess . And Ottawa office does not send file transfer email but direct MR email only then we will know about the visa office location. So another waiting period starts now after EP.

This forum is not the only addiction i have. I have been checking the cic application status for the last few weeks (multiple times in a week) already . So from now it would be just 10 times a day.

Did you receive UCI for your dependents in your EP email? I did not receive UCI for my guys. I forgot to check with you all on this yesterday.
They have assigned the same UCI for me which i already had hence it should be the same for dependents as well but trying to see when we will know the UCI for dependents.

As far I know, you can not change/update your work permit application after you apply unless an officer asks for additional documents to send/upload.

In your case, you can't change it to open at this time because your work permit is expired and you are under implied status. You need to have a valid work permit (expiring within 4 months) along with AOR in order to apply for an open work permit. Check out the link below.

Also, the way we fill out form IMM5710 - Application to Change Conditions and WP application fees is different for both open and close work permit applications.

Sorry to say but I think, it is not possible at this time.

It would have been possible if you would have send an open work permit application along with your PR one or before your work permit expired as I realized it now too.

CIC is taking more time to issue work permits than AORs.

what time period of employment did your employer mention on "Offer of employment" form though?

I applied under PhD stream without job offer on June 2015,got acknowledgment letter of receiving the package .we have envelope sent with Purolator from them and not received yet.I am trying to guess if it is file number letter or they returned the package it is almost two months now since we apply.

I assume you sent the package to CIO at Sydney, NS. Currently they are finishing up with May end and June (first few days) applicants. So it will take sometime before you get EP.

CIC are about as useful as a chocolate teapot.

Which is to say, that they are useless.

I've spoken to two different people in the call centre, and have got no definitive answers on anything. One person gave me some blatantly incorrect info about implied status (I'm currently in Canada with an IEC permit, which categorically DOES NOT offer implied status. He said it would. *rolls eyes*)

I've applied for the BOWP - although it's taking them 126 days to process right now (and getting longer), and my current WP expires in 70 days. I'll also be applying for an LMIA exempt closed work permit, through my employer. They're willing to pay the $230 fee to keep me. It does mean I can't freelance elsewhere, and also may mean I have to stop doing volunteering. Not what I want.

The LMIA exempt permit can be issued at the border, so I'm hoping to get that within the next few weeks. Then I'm hoping (and I have no idea if this will work or not) that four months down the line, when my BOWP gets processed, that that'll supersede the permit that ties me to one employer. But, when they look at the BOWP application, they may say "oh, he's just got a new permit for a year... denied."

So... I'll just have to sit tight, and wait and see what happens.

Incidentally, the useless chap at CIC also told me that I was ineligible for the BOWP with my newly received AOR, saying instead that my application needs to be 'passed' by the processing centre in Sydney. This, despite what CIC post publicly on their website.

To say that I've had a stressful and frustrating day has been understatement...
