Not sure why it would be Thursday - they usually do these things on Tuesdays.

I suspect that many May applicants won't hear anything until either the end of April or sometime in May. I know they're working to get everything done in 11 months, but that's no guarantee that every individual will have their paperwork processed in that time. There are many people with applications from earlier in 2015 who still haven't received their passport request yet. And some even earlier than that! Plus, you have people applying under different streams, and to different visa offices; and now CIC are trying to share work between the visa offices, meaning the process is a little different for their staff...

All in all, there are many reasons that these delays are happening. We have to remember that these folks looking at our applications owe us nothing! They're just sitting there, doing their job, and getting through a never ending (arguably, an ever growing!) mountain of paperwork. For every one of us that's waiting impatiently, there's someone else who's receiving some news from CIC.

Don't get me wrong, I know it's deeply frustrating - it has been for me too - but no matter how broken the system is, it's still the system we've got to work with. Sadly, there's nothing we can do to change that...
Very well said. We can't do anything else other than just waiting. I see people getting frustrated, ordering GCMS notes regularly and all. I personally don't think GCMS notes should not be ordered when the application is still within the processing times.

Yes, They do not own us anything expect keep us waitting for more longer ... The old plan was 6 months all together by the province+ CIC. And then after we start to actually apply that our ANIP increase to one year and then 1year and more to progress, lots of my friends have to leave canada after their 2 years of waitting for nothing, not even the nomination; some of them who has the nomination but got their open work permit rejected that has to cancel their CIC application, and some ppl who have their EE are already withdraw theirs too. I am not sure if you were here last April 1st,2015, just for alberta that tons of workers has to go home because their work permit expired and it is all because of the ANIP, all the sudden alberta was having the labourer shortage, it was all over the news and afterward ANIP even closed until the begining of this year ...So technically, there is way less applicant and how can it requires more time???? I remember back to the winter of 2013 and the begining of 2014 that CIC give ppr every two months or even more fast once ppl get their nomination. So what makes it harder to pass now??What is the real story behind? Yes, they are doing their job and so we are!!!We both following the rule, we follow CIC, so what are the rules they really following? I don't know...

Saddly, because we are the one decide to move to this land and we are the one can not leave here base on all the social net work here plus family and work here, so no matter how suck the system is that we have to wait ,wait until the end. Good luck all and god bless us!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, all of that may be true, but we still don't have a 'right' to be in Canada. They owe us nothing. We should be grateful Canada is open to immigration at all - many countries aren't.

CIC have many other streams than provincial nomination to be looking after - and though it may seem that there are more or less applicants at a certain time, we have no idea as outsiders what the true numbers are.

It's all deeply frustrating, especially when we're doing everything correctly and following what they tell us, but there's still nothing we can do - and we shouldn't get angry and irate and say 'well WHY aren't they helping us?!' - because they may well be helping countless others, which we don't know about or hear about because hey don't happen to be on this forum.

Like I keep saying - it all goes back to the fact that they don't owe us anything!

I'm talking about owing (being given something because somebody is indebted to you to do so) versus owning (possessing).

CIC don't have to give anyone PR. It's not a god-given right

Sorry if there's been any confusion. :)

The point I'm trying to make is that all we can do is wait - even if that causes problems for us personally.

For example, if my employer hadn't paid the fee for me to get an LMIA exempt permit, then I would have lost the right to work in Canada in October 2015 - and would have just had to wait until PR before I could work again; or leave Canada, end the PR process, and have to apply again under another stream. I didn't want to have to leave, and I would have been super mad if that had happened - but I still wouldn't be able to blame CIC, as they don't OWE me permanent residency.

It's their process, they set the rules, they have all the control. I can get as angry as I want at CIC (and have done, several times, over their seeming inconsistency and in some cases incompetency), but I can't blame them.

Small difference perhaps, but that was the point I was trying to make. We can complain and moan on the forums as much as we want to (and usually it's pretty funny here too!) but we shouldn't expect that CIC will move heaven and earth to process our files.

Man, I'd love to have a job at CIC to work out how this all really works...!

That's true, I lived in UK for 5.5 years and was still not eligible to apply for PR there. Now they kick out students as soon as they finish their degree. I see people getting frustrated in forum about CIC's inefficiency. But CIC themselves said coming to Canada is a privilege not a right. Gone are the days of history when you could conquer and invade any land and just settle down without any legal regulations haha

First, UK cannot do immgrantion that we know far ahead, so tons of ppl did not go there. Second, It is not our choice to stay,it is nature human being. After so many years of university and master study that all your friends, family and everything are here. It is not that you do not wanna go back, it is more you cannot just go back. Plus you broken the link back home when you here, so with the different lifestyle and prospect of thinking that we can not just restart everything like we still in 20's. Of course I know once we make our decition that I have to waitting in my term and that is why I come here! This discuss forum is the place for us to share information and to share the feelings, that is my feeling. If you are want to follow your noble pattern then I say keep waitting youself. Everyone can talk big and souns nice, if you are not frustrated and do not care then how do you find here? Anyway I just want get mine in time and debating with you guys are pointless anyway .

I have no argument with you about hoping it'll come in time - I really hope it does!

Good luck - and sorry if I caused any frustration. :)

What you said is totally understandable, and believe me there isn't a better example than me. I went to UK in 2007 for my undergraduate. But I left, went back to my country and came to Canada to start it all over again. So for me there is no way I can again go back to my country again, I have to be here in Canada, no matter what. But worrying and getting frustrated is not going to solve the problem, I did whatever I could to make it happen and will do whatever I can to become permanent here. Yes, I am tensed and like all of you can't wait to get my PR. But not everything is under our control, we just have to make sure we comply 100% to CIC's rules and regulations.

Hi PMC89,I think some of us just understood you wrong.I know by any means you were NOT trying to justify theses delays.Yes I agree with you there's absolutely nothing we can do about it.Its way beyond our control. We just have to find ways to manage our emotions and excitement until we get the PPR email. :DHope you will hear from them soon....!!
