It is definitely not 12 months, and I have seen people getting PPR on passports with only 5 months validity remaining. I am still debating whether to get the pasport renewed right away, or wait for PPR, then get a new one.

finally my upfront medical passed did on march 8th passed today .

Did you call cic after doing upfront medical or just sent a webform???

Is there anyone who got medical passed, after got 2nd medical request?
I got 1st request on 28th Feb and medical done on 9th Mar, got 2nd medical on 12th Mar.
However still keep saying "We have requested a medical exam. Check your messages below for details." on my CIC account.

Why they requested two medicals or you have a fam member? Are you single?

If they requested for the second time then a doctor found some abnormalities? Sorry I am not trying to judge or be mean at all.

that's because cic didn't issue IME no. in their first medical letter. when the docotor uploaded the results, they couldn't link it with application. So, we have to wait until they fix these issues.

Please don't just comment as it can stress people.. Many applicants in Late February and March have got 2 medical request which happened for some unknown reason and CIC messed up as there was no IME number in the 1st MR... You can read back previous posts to refresh yourself with the ongoing facts

thanks so much @vpkasbek after passport requested how long it will take then? if a person an inland applicant then will they send pr card right away or has to wait for a pr card too? is it ok to travel outside Canada once the confirmation of permanent residency is issued without a pr card? thanks so so much!!!!!!!!!!!!

vpkasbek has already answered about the expected times required to get back Passport with landing VISA and confirmation of permanent residency (COPR). If you complete your landing either within your city Service Canada or at border doing flagpoling, next time if you go outside Canada you have to have your PR card with you. PR card is mailed to your address after you complete landing and takes about 40-50 days. Another option is if you travel outside Canada with your landing VISA and COPR, you can finish your landing while you are coming back to Canada. I know a friend who went to visit Mexico with COPR for 4days and finished landing while coming back to Canada at Airport Immigration. Your landing VISA will be valid upto 1year from your Medical Complition date or your Passport Validity date whichever is less.

I didn't call them yet. Still waiting to inform me the result of my medical exam pass or fail. We are a family of three and it has happened to all of us there are also many people that this has happened to all of them exactly in the same day, March 12. I am not worried as it is their mistake. The only thing I did is I uploaded the receipt of my medical exam which shows I performed my medical test.

This is for all of them who received 2nd medical request. Please do not panic as its a normal and ur upfront medical can be used for it. There is no need to do another medical. Just you have to do is send you emedical form through the webform, wait for at least a week and then contact to cic to verify if they have received your webform. It will take month to 3 to update on ur profile.

Read my updated reply, if you are already in Canada, then the 6 month validity period does not apply to you.
