Hello folks,

I got invited to apply under PNP in earlier this year, and I submitted my PNP documents on March 7th 2016.
I still have not received my AOR, and also have not received a reply from Ontario Immigration regarding an inquiry email I sent to them 2 weeks ago.

My work permit expires in January 2017, and I am starting to get really worried.

Is it normal for them to take this long? It has been 5 months since I submitted my PNP documents. Is anyone else in the same boat as I am?

You should follow up with CIC right away,5 months without AOR is not normal.

Before you do that, check your spam emails or cross check if you gave correct email address?

Yes I did give them the correct email ID. I applied via a lawyer who is my representative for this application.
He has not received any emails from the, and he emailed them for a follow up 2 weeks ago, no replies so far.

There are no messages on my MyCIC account as well.

What is the best way to get a quick answer from them? Email is definitely not helping. Is there a number I can call them at?

One of my friend did apply through lawyer, he waited for almost 4 months too to just find out later CIC did sent AOR email within 2 months but his lawyer & their team somehow messed it up. What I am saying is - have your lawyer check everything again, there are chances your lawyer's staff might have missed communicating it with you.

Any way if this all does not make just call CIC regular call centre number and they will transfer you to appropriate person in charge to help.

Thanks for the advise, appreciate it.

I did call them just now.
The automatic dial-in system gives me 4 options, where the 4th one is "Press ZERO to talk to a representative".

I select that option, but after 4-5 rings, I hear a message "Please dial the 10 digit mail-box number of the person you are trying to reach". I have no clue how to proceed further.

What's number you calling?

You should call this number - 1-888-242-2100 and try getting hold on any agent by pressing any set of options. Once they answer your call explain the situation and they will transfer your call to further department.

So I did get hold of someone, and the person said that it is normal for it to take 5 months in a sense that there is no fix time frame for applicants to be contacted with their AOR.

He said that I will be contacted eventually but just can't say when. He said that if you check our website, it says that the delays can be as long as 15 months. I can't really find the website where it says that.

I have another question, can one apply for a Bridging Work Permit based on PNP's AOR?

I just received the email to connect my application to MyCIC. Tried it again but still showing no application found. Seems like there is some kind of glitch in their system.

15 months is processing time for complete PR application.

In regards to work permit - you can only get Bridging open work permit once you have AOR but you can get work permit extension based on your PNP. And the chances are you will get close work permit

So correct me if I'm wrong - there are 2 AOR's? One is for PNP (which acknowledges that the Ontario Nominee has received my PNP documents). And then there is another one for PR (which acknowledges that CIC has received the documents for PR application). Am I correct?

Assuming I get an AOR in the next month or so for the PNP documents that I submitted in March of this year, will that allow me to apply for a Bridging Work Permit?

And when you say that I will get a closed work permit based on my PNP - do you mean based on the AOR of my PNP Documents, or upon getting approved for Ontario Nomination (and getting those 600 points)?

You can use your PNP certificate to apply for a new work permit but that will be a close work permit

You can use the AOR sent to you by CIC after submitting your PNP certificate to them and with that you receive open work permit

Okay now it makes sense, Thanks!
So basically there is no chance to get a bridging permit (closed or open) until I actually get the PNP Certificate.
And I still haven't received an Acknowledgement from them stating that they have actually received my PNP Documents to begin with, never mind the PNP certificate.
And my current permit expires in 5 months.. Oh lord..

I ran into same issue on the day I received email from CIC. I waited for 24 hours and still ran into same issue. I notified CIC (cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp) web form about the issue. Even though I didn't get any reply from CIC, I was able to link my application after 3 days I received the email. Not sure if CIC fixed it or the system is slow in updating applications, it's all good for me.

I would suggest to contact CIC web form as they should get back to you with some response in 10 days. Hope it helps.
So, I tried everything but still not able to link my application. Even notified CIC through their web form but have not received any response. Could someone please advise if I would still be receiving email notifications for medicals?
