Guys, don't be too optimistic, since it is CIC!!!

Feb '16 applicant and background check is still "Not Applicable" ???

How are you guys getting through to CIC on the phone? I've tried several times a day at various times for 2 weeks now and every time I call it says high call volumes and just cuts me off with no option to hold, it's impossible.

I did an upfront medical back in October, the doctor confirmed it was uploaded via e-medical but there was never any reflection on my CIC account. I received medical requests 4th April and it immediately changed to "we are reviewing the results of your medical exam", I thought this meant they've found the one I submitted but i've seen here that lots of people have this who haven't even done the medical so I need to find out if CIC has my medical or not, I sent them the medical front page via case specific enquiry too.

My background check changed to in progress around August I think and then went to "not needed" middle of Feb this year and still shows that currently.

We all have "not required" for Background Check after medical. Not sure when is it going to change to " in progress" so that there is some movement.

Something similar happened to me as well. I'm an inland applicant

I ordered my GCMS notes and my medical is showing 'In progress, meds-pending' to the best of my knowledge it should at least say 'passed by now' (it's been 2 months since I did the exam and the doctor submitted/linked the results) I emailed the doctor and he confirmed that the result had been submitted and nothing was wrong with my medicals, he found it odd that it hadn't been updated yet, he advised to call CIC. I called them and got through today (FINALLY) and the rep said they received the medical result about 2 months ago and that it could just be that the visa office assigned to my file forgot to update my medical status to 'received and passed'. Advised to wait one more month and if by first week in may the status hasn't changed that I should call back and let them know. Best time to call CIC in my opinion is first thing in the morning, even if it cuts you off, keep calling and it will eventually transfer you ( I called 22 times straight, it kept cutting me off, until it finally transferred me, had to wait another 24 mins to speak to a rep). Good luck )
