Hi All. I need suggestion from you. I am Feb 05, 2015 applicant. This morning I received my GCMS note. In GCMS note, several things like, criminality check, eligibility, security check yet not started and due date is 2016/06/01. According to CIC's present processing time (15 months), my time will be completed by May 05, 2016. But they scheduled to processing some parts of my application after normal processing time.
Shall I write this matter to CIC ? It may be noted, as Outland candidate, I received GCMS note via my Canadian friend,
Are you outland? it depends on your visa office how long they take to process the PR files. Still the timeline is based on visa office. If outland then you can directly send email to that visa office too asking the status, i think that will be faster.

Guys,

I need some suggestion, my EACS is updated today to show that my medical are received. My timeline is as follows:

International Graduate Category
CIC Received April 09, 2015
AOR received: July 07, 2015
Upfront Med : Nov 15,2015
Med received: April 12,2016

I have an open work permit, which expires mid July. I am wondering, whether I should file for a work-permit extension or should I wait for 2 more weeks for PPR or DM

Thanks,
Varmeh

If I was in your shoes ,I would wait to become pr.Since you have an open work permit ,worst case scenario for you is to file an application for a Bridging Open Work permit in the beginning of July .This way ,even if you wont be a permanent resident by the time ,something that I doubt ,you will be in implied status meaning that you have exactly the same limitations that you had with your current work permit. The downside is ,that while in implied status you cannot leave the country ,otherwise you loose that status. The bright side is that once you become a permanent resident you can ask for a refund of your application. The best you can do is to prepare for the BOWP and not leave it for the very last moment.Use the long waiting processing time on your advantage to get the refund .On the other hand its not 100 % sure that your application will be approved . It is very likely but not certain .So ,having said that ,I would recoment you to wait till the beginning of July.Since the processing time is 130 days ,even if CIC denies your application ,you will practically have an open work permit til the beginning of Octomber.

Thanks,
Varmeh

Its already April. I believe you better apply for extension. Unless you want to gamble with implied status, which you will not allow to leave the country, well technically you can, but you wont be able to return to Canada as a worker.

You have a lot of time. You can wait. I read your post again. By July you'll get through.
