Anyone here knows how soon do you have to enter/re-enter Canada to activate the permanent residency once the Visa is given to you? Also, how long is the Visa valid for? TIA

Based on my info and what sent to me u must leave the country before the date u went for ur medicals or before ur passport expires anyone that would expire first you must leave before any of the two expires...and usually you wld be given 5yrs...and u must a least live 4years out of it so as to apply for citizen if not then consequences..
Not leaving before it expires attracts cancellation and can't apply till abt 2years after and am not sire now that processing time has been extended whether its extends too
And secondly u want be allowed to apply for citizen again if u want stay 4yeadr out of 5..... So u will have to be reapplying over and over to obtain visa for entering....days my info as received any other person shld verify this ...Goodluck

thanks for the reply, so for example I took my medical February 01, 2018, then my permanent resident Visa will expire on the same date on 2019?

If they asked you to do medicals not that u wenr ahead, then they do not have any choice than to send for ur passport request before a year clocks..let say 7-8months...and den stamp before Feb 1st, u must leave the country next year....so just pray they send it earlier not the 9months or 10months and den at 11month ur passport was sent and den u start rushing....pray it comes earlier for passport request then u can take ur time and plan before leaving . but start counting less than a year to leave the country. Good luck

Should I get another police certificate? I did not include one initally but when I got the reminder email last September, I sent them a new police certificate. I am just worried they might ask for an updated police certificate in the coming months. I am currenty waiting for MR.
