My friend working at an immigration agent told me that XEP number basically means the application has been accepted at the first stage review. It is just a matter of time for it to be converted to AOR. He has never had a case that an application is returned given the XEP number is granted. Even though I am not sure the reliability of the word, it is a good sign at least. Thanks.

Hi dipica,

I called CIC, and the agent told me it simply means there is an application, but it's not processed yet. So, it does not equal to an AOR.
I asked if it means my application package is complete, she said no. I asked if my file could still be returned to me, she said yes.
I really doubt what she said tho. To link the application, we need to fill out basic information as well as IELTS test ID.
If my application was incomplete, why did they bother to input all my information in the system?

Anyway, at least it means my package has been opened...

I have not received AOR and file received on May13. I try to link my application but can not find the application on cic web

Actually, I already applied for BOWP online in June. I had to cuz my WP was expiring.
I made a mistake by applying online instead of paper, as online application takes only 27 days to process and my AOR is not gonna arrive in time.
However, the online application processing time has been increasing since I applied - the most recent update shows that it takes 34 days.
It makes me really nervous cuz now I have a bit hope that my AOR might arrive in time, but who knows... I might receive the WP refusal anytime and have to stop working. ???

I am also the pnp master stream in Ontario. File received on May 13, cannot link my account to application although I input all my info. Any ideas? Return the file?

Just enter 000 in test result
and NONE in ielts option

and your application received date (cic) will be your test date.

I did like this as I have not given any ielts

This didn't work for me. I had to find my test ID.

I'm not sure why, and I don't want to make any groundless guesses that worry you.
This "link to my application" thing is not official. Check out this link -

it says
"You can link the following applications to your online account:
Visitor visa
Work permit
Study permit
Visitor record

We will be adding new application types throughout the year.

Family Sponsorship (excluding applications to become a sponsor)

So, our applications shouldn't have been available to be linked according to CIC, not sure what's going on.

It was not working for my yesterday but today it worked.

I started it by choosing name, family name, DOB option not by UCI

I tried yesterday and it showed no application found. I guess I will try tonight!
