Someone has changed my status on this. I dont know who and why? If any1 knows plz explain. I am making corrections in this. one more update on my file. MP said my file is pending for final review. is there any1 in the same boat?

I am May 20, 2016 applicant. I just called them and the call center agent said that my background is in progress and is done by other govt. agencies. So he cannot say when it will be done.
 
Yes i Applied on May 24, 2016 AINP but no update with BG, it still says N/A but my friend got his BG check in process on Oct 6, 2017 and he also has the same date as mine.
Plus i called cic this morning and they are saying that my BG check is not started yet

Based on your application date i believe that you would have done your medical. You are very close to get PPR. You dont need any sort of help from your employer. Just fill out the eligibility questionary and apply for open work permit. You will need to upload your photo along with any sort of proof that you've done medical. Thats it.

Hey everyone
I am wondering if PPR is only out on Fridays? As per the latest trend that's how it feels. I know some people in my circle who got on Fridays/

Yes, I was told the same two months ago, and thankfully I took the decision to apply for work permit extension or I would be out of status right now.
 
April 12, 2016 --> Just called CIC, Agent told me that background check is finished and just need final review to be done but when i told him that it is exactly same answer what i got last month. So he put me on hold and sent a note to officer working on my file and told me that they'll be directly replying to me through email address. Will be waiting for a reply from officer or DM/PPR whichever comes first. I'll keep you guys posted.

You need to have a valid status in Canada, until you activate the COPR
