Hi as I said I m April 1st week 2016 applicant and I called 2weeks ago and they told me that your file almost done just wait for final review and today again I called to them and she told me that the same thing as before but one more sentence she added will contact you between today to 16 dec 2017.

ya, it was happed to one of my friend last year, he sent his passport and didn't get back until the day before his own wedding and then he could be there at morning of his wedding day

I am May 12, 2016 as well. I have not received medical exam request yet, but my background check is in processing since this March. Have you done your medical exam already?

April 25th applicant. BG changed into process on August 22nd. Still no PR. 16 months over already.

Guys, I am a May 2016 applicant, BG is still N/A. I read many people in this forum are unable to visit to their home country for years while their PR applications are in progress. Why? If you have work permit and valid visa, what is the problem? PPR gives you a 30-day window. I have frequently visited other countries since I submitted my application to CIC, and am planning another one in the next month. I am asking because I want to make sure that I not missing something.

Don't wry you guys are very close... hopefully as September intake (student) is started... so now they start to process the pr files... I think they do it till Nov.
Because than again january I take starts.... so start the packing

there is no problem at all to visit other countries if you have valid permit & visa

You can visit any country on valid permit and visa too.. I did it last Oct.. I went to my home country.. So you will be fine..No need to worry.. I am unsure why the other haven't been to their home country..

i think some people want to stay in their home county for couples of months , like 3 to 6 months
