Does anyone know if CIC accepts passport that has its validity extended for the PR visa? I got an email today from Centralized office asking for a copy of a passport that currently has a validity date beyond 6 months. I extended the validity of my passport until October 11, 2019 through the embassy of my country, and sent an electronic copy of its new expiry dates to them via Case Specific Enquiry as well as by post on May 2016, and according to my GCMS notes it was received on June 10, 2016 . Also, I already used this passport with the updated dates for the extension of my Work Permit which was extended until October 2017 a few weeks ago. So the Immigration Office accepted it as valid. Therefore I wonder why they requested a copy of passport again. Anyone has any suggestions, ideas/theories. Getting a new passport will take around 2 to 3 months therefore I was hoping that this passport will do. I'm August 2015 applicant and waiting for another 3 months for a new passport will be too long for this already very long process.

From my own experience I know the office extending your work permit and office working on your PR are NOT CONNECTED! Extension office accepted your passport, PR office might not. I would contact call center and ask about your specific case.

My medical status changed from not needed at this time to review in progress, and I have not yet done any medical test, do you know after how long should I get médical request..

Thats acceptable but u hsve to explain again through case specific inquiry tjat you have your passport extended and photocopy the part that has a stamp extension. Icluded all ur file info..

My MP replied my email. All background checks are completed, and file is pending a final decision. She will follow up again at the beginning of December to see if the process has been finalized.
Seems most of cases are pending for final review.......

cic just stops giving out PPR emails for long time and then just give it out for 1-2 days. seems like they are playing like lucky draws or something....
