Could you tell me which email did you use to send.

Hello, Mishti.
I used the Case Specific Enquiry form. They usually reply within 24 hours. Our work permits are expiring soon, so I told them that I needed to know if I had to spend all that money to renew, or if they could wrap things up. They replied saying that they had verified that our our work permits were indeed expiring soon. Woke up this morning to see PPR. That's how it happened.

Congrats.....Please how did you inform them that your wife is expecting a baby??

I informed them through the Case Specific Enquiry Portal online. Just type "CIC Case Specific Enquiry" into Google. It will take you there.

So this is what i found on other thread about background check

Not needed at this time" means that your BG check went to the next stage. "Not started" means your application has not been accessed by officer yet. "In progress" means your application is started and CIO is checking the provided docs. At this time your meds are passed, criminality/RCMP screening and biographic (if applicable) are in progress. When it changes to "not needed" it means your criminality is completed, RCMP and biographic is completed, security check and eligibility is in progress and coming soon. When your last BG check stage is going to be completed (security passed) it will go back to "in progress" (though it might never gonna change since now) and your secondary visa office will start the final decision based on eligibility. After short period of time you will get your result

that is great, in that case i can expect my ppr next month.

Anyways does anyone know how do you send your dependent's(she is in India) passport to CIC after PPR request?

Should i wait until we get PPR and then email them to change office
or
Should I ask my wife to send her passport to me so that I can send both our passport and pictures together?

I just dont want to delay after we get PPR request.

Thank you

Legally you cannot send an Indian Passport overseas via post. This is mentioned on the last page of your passport. When you get a request ask them to make arrangements for your wife to submit your passport in India. They will do it for you. I will do the same once I get PPR

When CIC send you a PPR request they will also send you a letter stating that if your dependent are in India please send this letter to XXXX email address. My friend done the same thing today and he received letter of Visa office change from CIC in 5 hours so i think it for more official and safe way of submitting passport. He is also from India.
