Thank you for the information. I have linked my application and my notes says:

Application/profile status Open Help
Review of eligibility Review in Progress
Review of medical results Not needed at this time
Review of submitted documents
Scheduling an interview Not needed at this time
A background check is needed Not Started
Final decision Not Started

Does this mean that they are now busy working on my application?

Druce, after MR, your background check will change to ---- In Progress

Thank you Druce! This is brilliant! ;D

Who discovered this? :P

So will you still request for a GCMS notes next time? :P

Here's mine:

-----------------------------------

Application/profile status -- Open
Review of eligibility -- Review in Progress
Review of medical results -- Passed
Review of submitted documents --
Scheduling an interview -- Not needed at this time
A background check is needed -- In Progress
Final decision -- Not Started

-----------------------------------

To GOD be the glory!

harirajmohan is the man of the hour, he told me how to do it! I wanted to hit his [good] button like 1000000000000000000 times for this but unfortunately I cant :P

I dont deem it necessary to request GCMS notes now. As long as I can see what they are doing on my application I am fine.

It looks like my eligibility has been started so I am quite chuffed about this ;D :D ;)

I'll click good for harirajmohan! Thanks Druce!

Yeah, that's why I asked if you'll still pay for the GCMS coz I know you had it once, right?

At least we have a new place to go while waiting for updates! GCKey! :D :P

I am also successfully linked my application with myCIC, happy !!!

Hari n Druce, I don't think cic follows the trend of medical before background check can change to in progress because i have not done medical and my background check is in progress. thanks

Really Goodness? Cool! Thanks for the info. ;D

I thought I would give linking the application a shot. While linking the application it says

"By linking an application to this account, you are agreeing to have all correspondence sent to this account. This means that correspondence will no longer be sent to you by mail. This begins on the day that you link the account and applies to all future correspondence."

Does this affect how CIC contacts us? They never contact us by mail anyway, they do only via email. I guess my question is does linking the application will affect how they send me PPR. The last thing I want is the system or CIC to get confused on how to send me the PPR.

1.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/e-services/mycic.asp
Continue GCKey. (this is the one i used)

2. For anyone who wants to apply online first has to create the account. So till that point its common for all even if they dont apply anything after creating it.
3. link the existing account:
Enter all detail required + for English test detail, use the following:
Test: None
Test id: 000
test date: cic application received date.
(for few it works but not for all)

Thank you my dear

I just realized my common law partner quit his job in Feb 2016, and he is the dependent of our application. Do I need to send to update the Schedule A? or Just wait to see what would happen? I haven't received any specific document requested yet

Thanks!

Thanks!

Update only if he joins a new employer otherwise no point since there is nothing to update. I also had to leave my job in January and just kept quiet. It makes more sense to update when you have a new job

I just check my Gcms notes in which i found Preferred correspondence channel:Auto email
Also the express entry applicants they use this my cic system to track their application status and also get final ppr email from CPC.So there is nothing to worry about if u link ur application. One last thing the information on my cic is not updated coz my friend who got ppr in April his status still shows same like everyone.

Hmm..you are right. I failed to read the fine print while linking my application. Hope it doesn't cause any problems.

Send them an updated Schedule A form with your spouses information. Fastest way is via Case Specific Enquiry Form (let's you upload files instantly). Then, I would request GCMS notes to ensure they received it and updated your file case
Hi Jimmy. I sent my PCC last month. The due date is May 22. Do you think it makes sense to order GCMS notes now?
