I have already waited two weeks but still no news.....

Mine reached today as well. Are you sure you are checking the correct return tracker number ?

Wanted to know if anyone knows exactly how long it takes for Singapore visa office to process work permit applications. I am with a job offer and applied for PR already along with WP application.

The CIC website says it would take only a month for my country. But it is already been more than that. Any idea anyone??

My passport arrived in Ottawa for visa ... how long is that gonna take now ? 2 weeks ?

In my case, visa was stamped two days after CIC received my passport, but return tracker was not activated until the 15th day since passport reached CIC Ottawa

So in total, after how many days did you receive your passport ?

Lifeonedge, I am wondering whether your application is different than the rest. How come you received PPR so early considering there are April applicants still waiting. Is it because you are a single applicant?

There were May 2015 applicants, who received their PPR in Jan 2016 or even earlier. They were paper based too. Did you ask them why they received so early?

Lets say, you did ask and they said that they did upfront medicals. Is that a valid reason to get an early PPR from CIC's point of view? Probably not, because you or me do not work for CIC, so we don't know how they work.

So at the end, I'd say, I do not know. I know paper based applicants, in 2014, were getting their PPRs in less than 3 months. 2 of my friends got it. Was it because, they wanted to clear the way for Express Entry? Probably not, because there are still some applicants, who have not received PPR and they applied in 2014.

I know one thing. I submitted all my documents while submitting my file. After receiving reminder email in Dec 2015, I submitted the RPRF , medical receipts as well as Canadian Police Clearance via CSE.

I hope that helps your curiosity. ;D

Best wishes.

I sent my passport on March 15
Passport received by CIC on March 16
Return tracker activated on Mach 31
Passport arrived Canada Post in my city on April 1.

So 16 days in total since CIC received my passport! (My passport was not actually delivered to me on Apr 1 because Canada Post made error, that was another story which was simply my bad luck with Canada Post)

50 percent luck works If u are getting ppr before anyone else.I think most of us like (80 percent applicants) Sends complete file to cic in starting. If u see the mid ppr shower in march one lucky guy of 1may got ppr,1st ppr shower of this month April 5 one lucky guy got ppr of this forum 11 may and now 15 April ppr shower this 19may got ppr.so we dont know how are they choosing it.My own files passed eligibility, medical, criminality since 8 Feb 2016 but still didt got anything.so will see this week who is the luck one or next week .

Hey bud,

See we have a difference of opinion here. I don't believe luck plays any factor. What might seem like a normal application, with all documents attached, could become complicated if the country he has stayed, is not responding to the requests being made by CIC/ CSIS or any 3rd party agency that's looking into security matters. This is just an example. We do not know all the internal controls, processes, approvals etc that CIC has in place. On top, worker behavior, work ethics etc could hamper the processing times for sure. At the end, we speculate for reasons to satisfy or calm ourselves.

I wish you all the best bud. You will get your PPR soon too. ;D

Exactly - LUCK. Talking about PPR, its even far away as of now for me...
Example - my case: My assessments were not started at all (no officer assigned - no due date). So we cant say why or how, we cant expedite. I believe its just luck because some have sent PCCs like me in Dec but still their assessments are complete. Also some even received additional document request after Dec and they have received PPR or their assessments are complete. So its a horse race. we dont know if our horse will reach first. :-X :-\ ??? ::)
