Economy is driven by supply and demand. According to Conference board of Canada, only Alberta's economy will shrink.

Having said that, there are growth opportunities in other provinces. BC is one of them. You can get better jobs at remote locations (doesn't mean the Arctic .. lol) or in the 3 Federal Territories (Yukon, Nunavut or North West Territories), if you have the right qualifications. Competition is less and academically qualified people do not want to move there.

To help you in your job search - http://www.jobbank.gc.ca/home-eng.do?lang=eng
Make an excellent LinkedIn page. It attracts HR professionals. Show off your skills, but do not try to be over confident.

Connect and network to look for new opportunities. Most people get jobs through referrals. Don't hesitate to learn and get your hands dirty. Employers love when you are flexible and you are willing to visit other locations, if required. A senior manager can put on his PPE (coveralls) and work with a blue collared worker. So be humble in your quest.

Housing prices are inflated extremely. But it will vary according to location.

You will find good schools for your kids, no doubt about that.

Best wishes.

Thank you, lifeonedge!

Wow that's amazing. Lucky.
I wish if they could clear this backlog as early as possible.

Thank you.

Buy two (2) prepaid 24 x 32 cm Canada Post Xpresspost envelopes. Fold one of the envelopes in half and put it inside the second envelope (Or u can buy 1 24*32cm and a little smaller envelope that can fit in the other as well) Put your passport, application and supporting documents in the second envelope and mail it to the address indicated on the document checklist.

Make sure that you write down the tracking number for both envelopes so that you can trace your application. CIC will mail your passport back to you. You can track your passport using Canada Post mail: www.canadapost.ca

Seems like nothing again this week. This is annoying..
maybe I am wrong but they did the same in December for MR. then they sent out a bunch of them all together..

Has anybody ever heard from CIC agent saying "decision made"status could be a mistake?? Thats what he told me to my consultant today. He said he don't know how long it's going to take to finalize the application or ask for passports. Even my representative is in limbo now. Its been 2 weeks i got DM and now they are saying it could be a mistake. Canadian immigration system is crippled.
