Hi inlanders! I need your advise. How is Canada these days in term of economy, labor market, housing?

Economy is driven by supply and demand. According to Conference board of Canada, only Alberta's economy will shrink.

Having said that, there are growth opportunities in other provinces. BC is one of them. You can get better jobs at remote locations (doesn't mean the Arctic .. lol) or in the 3 Federal Territories (Yukon, Nunavut or North West Territories), if you have the right qualifications. Competition is less and academically qualified people do not want to move there.

Make an excellent LinkedIn page. It attracts HR professionals. Show off your skills, but do not try to be over confident.

Connect and network to look for new opportunities. Most people get jobs through referrals. Don't hesitate to learn and get your hands dirty. Employers love when you are flexible and you are willing to visit other locations, if required. A senior manager can put on his PPE (coveralls) and work with a blue collared worker. So be humble in your quest.

Housing prices are inflated extremely. But it will vary according to location.

You will find good schools for your kids, no doubt about that.

June applicant here. Got my medical request but it does not come with a medical report file attached or an IME number. Doctors say I must have an IME number. Any thoughts? Thanks.

When you get MR?
Normally it takes few days from MR email and even some time cic send with MR email

Call the call center. I think for one person it happened the same but dont know how he/she resolved it.

Sorry rhi, i am yet to get ppr. I have no idea about it. Also it might be little different with respect to local visa office hence please check with one of the NDVO applicants.

i applied for my gcms notes february 12
and i get it today march 15

ELIGIBILITY - not started
SECURITY - not started
CRIMINALITY - in progress
MEDICAL - not started ( but we received MR at march4 and march17 we ar going to do ME)

So they didnt start anything only criminality in progress and we are june 2 applicant . honestly i was hoping that they did almost everything and that they are waiting only for ME.

I too thought they wont wait for MR but they dont wait for anything but they dont start on it.... Dont know the reason. In my case they have not started any of it, just medical is passed because they received it and looks like only the medical team does good job and on time.
So no idea on their processing method.... and i feel its still luck plays in every step. :-\

June 4 applicant. Same like you thinking that everything is done just medical is left but your notes gives us entirely different picture

Hi Sanjeet03!

You have to send original pcc to CIC through mail. Check email from CIC request pcc. They give you their address to send pcc to them.

Because I sent my pcc to CIC Feb 10.

You can use any method as long as its one of them mentioned in the letter. i sent it via cse and they acknowledged it. Also i could see the notes in gcms. So i dont see a problem sending via cse. Earlier they used to ask originals but nowadays they dont ask.
