I have a question here if anyone can answer.. I am employer supported pnp nominated and almost close to get ppr may 28 applicant, recently I changed my employer and I think I heard from few people that at border they ask about our employer so is that be a problem for me now?? If I tell them about my new job? New employer?

I think , it shouldn't be any problem, they some times ask for work permit, that is just to verify whether u hv valid work permit or expired, border they dont look into your employer and your pnp, i have been to border couple of times with my friends for crossing , im just sharing my experience , and you dont hv to tell them your new job and employer, just keep quite, i have same problem like you, so i need to face same thing n my work place very close to border

When my friend got her PR a year ago I remember she told me she had to re enter Canada for PR to be "activated". So she literally drove to US and turned around as soon as she got there and went back. Is there such thing? Do we need to leave Canada after we get PR and then get it "activated" at the border? Has anyone heard anything like that?

This is standard procedure. It's called flagpolling

When you get to the border and meet with the US border guard, tell them you want to go back to Canada for PR process and they will direct you back.

Or you can call CIC office to schedule an interview and complete 'landing' inland. This takes 6-8 weeks in advance so it makes no sense if you are 2 hours drives away from border (90% Canadians lives within that)

Monday morning. Here we go. PPR rain come!

I requested my GCMS notes Feb 13, so I should be receiving them today folks. Will keep you all posted.

Here is a fresh info for you.
I went to carway border on 12 March with my family for landing. We crossed the border and went to US office, informed them that we are there for landing. They issued a letter of refusal in five minutes . We took it and returned to Canada side. We gave our docs to Canadian office. They asked nothing and stamped date etc in the COPR . Took around 15 minutes for that. Now we are PR . Very simple

Morning all

For those who like to read, here is a link to an audit report, as to how the government is managing its activities, responsibilities, and resources in issuing visas (temporary & permanent) to non-Canadians.

http://www.oag-bvg.gc.ca/internet/English/parl_oag_201111_02_e_35934.html

It talks a lot about: Determining admissibility, security screening, medical screening and Risk Management.

A new week brings new hope.

Best wishes to all. :)

I don't have an American visa though to enter the US.. Does that mean I still need to leave Canada (let's say go to Caribbean) and come back within a short time after granted PR or that interview would do it? And do you schedule an interview after you get PR?
I've just never heard of such process and if you could tell me more about it I would really appreciate it!
