Guys, i know for sure that requesting GCMS notes delays your case. As much as I'd like to order new ones, I'm going to abstain myself from doing so.
There was an immigration conference here in Vancouver with John McCallum (you'll know who he is if you know anything about immigration). The conference attendees were mostly immigration lawyers receiving instructions and updates on the current load. They've seen an increase in applicants requesting GCMS notes which generates a heavier burden for agents who have to manipulate the entire file (who knows how many times), and eventually creating huge delays for everyone applying.
I recommend staying put. As for my own case, I requested them twice and now regret doing so. My sister who applied for PR under exact same conditions (same sponsor and all) just last year, got her PR in just 10 months because she didn't request anything. Like her, I'm also inland, have been in Canada for 7 years, have Canadian education, Canadian employer (we had the same sponsor) and had traveled to the same countries. I'm now just under 12 months with all assessments passed but still waiting for PPR and DM.
I recommend not requesting the notes over and over unless you absolutely need to (like if you need to confirm if your file is complete, etc). In the conference, they also mentioned they will start charging for these notes as they are generating a bigger burden which not only translates into more delays, but also a bigger governmental cost.
Cheers
Jimmy
