I got my credit card charged today. I sent my application on April 23rd

Congrats. So you would have got xep already. Did you?
I thought they send xep first (check the minimal validation of application content and documents) and then process the payment.

As mohan said they always do the pre assessment on a file first and when it seems to be complete then they produce XEP AOR for that file and then after some days they enchash the credit card. Charging your credit card means your application passed the pre assessment phase and you have your XEP AOR BUT because XEP AORs are sending in a batch series then they didn't send your XEP by now and you will receive it this week or next week batch with others.

Using credit card helps in this way to know about payment charge few days earlier we get xep. But how to track our online payment

For online payment method there isn't any way to get those type of information but it is more better than fee payment form because you are 100% sure they received your money but there were applications returned just because of credit card transaction decline!

The credit card you give have an online statement which updates your list of purchases after 3 business days of transaction. You can login to your account and check it.
