O-PNP Applicants who're waiting for Medical Request for 5 weeks now, have you guys called CIC to ask any updates? I called them last week and they said that for now they're doing some background & security checks on my file.

How long is it gonna take now? :-[

I thought they do that after MR. The whole process lacks transperancy.

My ECAS shows " Medical Received". Today I called CIC and they told me that my file is going security checks.
I thought it all happens before medical checks. CIC is completely messed up.

Hi guys,

I've been reading this thread for a while. Thanks for all the great sharing, I learned a lot.

I'm an OPNP application under master stream. Application submitted on Aug 25, 2014, received AOR and file # on Mar 10. I then informed CIC my address, phone, occupation changed by sending email to CIO-Sydney-Search-Enquiry @ cic.gc.ca as indicated in its AOR email. It's been a month but I haven't seen update on my ecas, is it normal?

Another question. I'm inland applicant. However, by mistake, I put down Beijing, China as visa office. Even though the CIC call center agent told me my file is currently in Ottawa, I so worry that CIC will really process my case in China, in which case the processing time is much worse. He just said hope that my case will stay there. Does anybody have a clue where my case will be processed?

I sent email to CIC Feb 7th. I received a response today - April 20th. That's more than 70 days

Yeah CIC request me additional Doc. (Finger Print RCMP) and I submit on March05,2015 but no news after that and my ECAS still "Medical Received" ??? :

CIC has advised the same to me as well. My file's transferred to Ottawa on April 07/2015, although AOR was issued on March 10/2015 and i think my file should have been transferred real quick. Therefore, i Assume that CPC-O would take 3 weeks from the date they received my file from CIO- Nova Scotia and, as a consequence, i anticipate to receive MR within this month.

Interesting. I called CIC last week as well and the agent indicated that my file had arrived in ottawa on april 7th and nothing has been done on it since. I guess all the applications from our batch arrived together.
I do not if Sydney took forever to send it to Ottawa or if Ottawa took forever to open the applications. Either ways, the next hurdle is security and background checks and I do not know how long it takes Ottawa to do these (provided they have all the info they need already attached).

My guess is once they start sending out medical requests, That's when they put us in the queue for the above checks as well.

Do anyone could advise how long it take for CIC to mail back the passport with visa stamp? I mailed my passport on the 9th, and it shows received on the next day. But when I tried to check the returning tracking number, it says "the tracking number you have entered is invalid" is it normal because CIC have not yet send the passport back so the tracking number is not activated?! I am kinda worried now and I really need some advice. Thank you!!
