Hi guys! Ive done my landing last nightin Coutts,AB. US & Canadian officers were very nice. US one congratulated me when i told him im re-entering Canada as i received my Permanent Residency confirmation letter :) He then took my passport, gave me a rejection letter & actually drove with me to Canadian border just to show me the way. Canadian officer then asked for my passport & copr letter. It was a young officer (female) - very polite. She didnt ask any questions whatsoever only to confirm my address. She then signed my copr letter and explained my rights as Permanent Resident. That was it! :) no stress at all :)
Btw if you own a car maybe you should rent cos i own a really good car but had a bad feeling about driving it cos it would raise financial questions and they (US & Canadian officers) asked me if i rented the car im driving or it is mine. So its a good thing i rented :)

Good luck to all of u guys and am happy for everyone who finally got PR! It was a long & painful road here but its time to enjoy it!!! :)

Congratulations.

one thing more I don't have my driving license . I lost my licence . do we need a driving license there that's why I was asking can I park before I cross the border nd then I will walk toward border because I don't have my driver license with me

I am PNP applicant.
June 2014 PNP Nomination
June 2015 CIO application submit
Dec 2015 Revived UCI Number
Dec 2015 We start processing your application
in GCMS notes which I applied immediately after receiving UCI number mentioned that:
Eligibility: not started
Criminality: not started
Security : not started
Medical : not started
Due date :December, 2016
What should I conclude?
It means I will receive MR in Dec 2016?

1. If you are caught on the way then you will be fined and you cant do your landing due to delay and not allowed to drive further. I know that later you can prove that you have valid license but i guess you need to go to court/send it later but it will spoil the trip and the intent.
2. I dont think you will be allowed to approach the immigration booth on foot which will draw unnecessary security attention which is not safe for you.

You should avoid both of these to have smooth landing.

i ve been to some borders of alberta and saskatchewan...there is no problem walking..of course they have security cameras and keep watching us...but ther s nothing against law..

secondly, about ur licence...if u just lost ur licence card and still authorized to drive, its ok...get a temporary one from an issuer or take a print out of ur online portal as proof....if you are unauthorized to drive now...better get somebody to drive for u..its a risk at this point..

Hi there. When CIC gives us a Due Date, you need to understand that it's an estimate of the entire process (till the moment you get your PR Card) and not for one single step. When I received my GCMS notes for the second time, it said that my due date was May 2016. I believe that I will get my PR Card before that time.. So now you do the math :)

Cheer up and have patience coz you are going to need it.. We all went through those phases and its time to reap the benefits. You can do this! ;)

Good luck.

Have a Friend/Relative/Colleague drive you to the border (and make sure to thank them with a nice treat later or offer to pay for the gas upfront). Its Safer, Simpler and more Efficient that way :)

Hi Michelle,

Congrats for the final step :) I guess you are the first person in December group to complete the landing formalities..

Can you please help me with a few questions:
- I guess your drove from Calgary to Coutts. How is the road condition; especially from Lethbridge onwards?
- Did you fill out forms B4/B4A? Any suggestions there?
- I couldn't quite follow your comments about rental vehicle vs self owned. Why would it matter which vehicle does one have?

Thanks and congratulations once again!!

Thanks for doing that Kaladhar. I was thinking to ask it and you did it :)

Adding 2 cents to what Kaladhar has written:

2. Valid Work/Study/Visitors Visa Permit(s) or Proof of application (fee receipt/confirmation from CIC etc.) for extension of status [RED][High Priority][/RED]

Cheers

congratulations to everyone!

on the other side, I have received my atip and to my surprise the notes were the same as what I have ordered last October. thus, no movement since then. security not started, eligibility in progress, medical and criminality passed.

I called cic today, the agent who opened my file said it's still in CIO. I was thinking my application was just left in one side and forgot about it. everybody is receiving decision exept me...

What is the paper file location? If it is PV2-JAN, there is a hope.
