I heard the same from other guys, who landed in 2013 & 2014. But this friend of mine called CIC today and thats what they replied. He is planning to go to the border anyways this weekend without a US visa. I will share what happens with him.

Please do share as well, when you do your landing.

could be a false information friend..coz i went to the border many times..all you need is to obtain a rejection letter from the US border which u will get very easily

As far as I know there is no need for US visa if someone wants to go thru the US gate then U-turn to the Canadian border stamping. V. simple

If you want to do landing at any US/ canada border then u no need US visa. u just have to go to
US side . just let them know you are here for canada pr landing . they will issue on entry denial letter ( which is
not serious issue for your future US entry as they just give for proof of that u left canadian soil )
you have to provide this letter at canada border side . so many of my friends did landing without US visa.

I meant, the guys who got their PR in 2013 & 2014 didn't have US visas and they were not visa-exempt. Still they were able to do their landing. It is possible that the agent is new, who talked to my friend today.

I should receive my CoPR today so i will do flagpoling as soon as i get it and i dont even know what else i need to take to the border... Anyone can tell us more information plz? Do we need any other documents other than CoPR and Passport?

Cic agents usually deal with lots of inquiries of different types..that doesnot mean that they are masters of everything..since we do more research on our situation we are more familiar with our process and procedures..i had situations to explain to a cic agent as she was totally unaware of upfront medical in our case..so dont rely on them always..if you are still confused,call again in another time of the day..not the same time coz once i got the same person again on phone

What kind of proof of funds? Account balance document is enough?

Proof of funds, account etc is for those people who have no job offer, who are not working and who are on visitor visa before and doing landing as a permanent resident..
So many friends,and friends of friends did landing in last few months and nobody has asked them about proof of funds..so take it easy..
Just call cic and ask for what docs you need to take..or take the most imp docs which are: work permit(s)..copr and passport..driving license.. that would b it

Hi guys! Ive done my landing last nightin Coutts,AB. US & Canadian officers were very nice. US one congratulated me when i told him im re-entering Canada as i received my Permanent Residency confirmation letter He then took my passport, gave me a rejection letter & actually drove with me to Canadian border just to show me the way. Canadian officer then asked for my passport & copr letter. It was a young officer (female) - very polite. She didnt ask any questions whatsoever only to confirm my address. She then signed my copr letter and explained my rights as Permanent Resident. That was it! no stress at all
Btw if you own a car maybe you should rent cos i own a really good car but had a bad feeling about driving it cos it would raise financial questions and they (US & Canadian officers) asked me if i rented the car im driving or it is mine. So its a good thing i rented

Has anyone who send their passports late last week received them back ?
My passports reached on Friday.. After such a long wait to get DM, I hope my passport returns this week so that I can hopefully complete landing this weekend
