Hi Luckychamp,

If I apply for OINP master/phd stream, would I be able to use Express Entry for the federal process after my OINP get approved? The reason of asking this is that Express Entry only take around 6 month, where it would take 12-15 months otherwise.

Hi Luckychamp,

I am almost ready to apply for the Ontario Provincial Nominee (PhD stream). I completed my PhD here in Ontario less than a year ago. I'm waiting for my embassy to process my new passport because the validity should be at least of two years as states on Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program website.
I wish to ask you (or anyone who already submitted and being processed):
- I have asked to translate my birth certificate in English from a certified translator (ATIO) and I received the letter. Do I need to submit this original certified translation or can I submit a copy of that?
- Also I have copy of certified translation of my bachelor degree and transcript. Can I submit as well the copies of the certified translation?

Hope I was clear. Thank you in advance!

Please share your timeline guys

Hi there

actually you can not decide it depends upon OINP if your letter shows that you can directly apply paper base application and don't go for EE program then you have to follow the instruction.

EE is again a pool where you need to be elected however direct application you are exempted from that step.

Even in direct paper application it is clearly mention that it is expedite processing steam so I hope you will get it

Thanks

Hi

First you don't need to submit the original still they ask.....so if the document is not in English then you have to submit certified true copy or notarized one. But for safe side you can also put a photo copy of the original document as reference.

Thanks

Thanks so much, dude. Apologized for my endless questions :-) here is another one: Regarding the Federal CIC processing, they require the Police Clearance Certificate. When should I start preparing for that? Some country might take a while to give you a Police Clearance Certificate, so should I prepare it before the OINP get approved?

Pleasure is all mine brother...

Actually OINP usually takes 90 calendar days.....so you can process in the mean time your police clearances because they also takes time 1 to 2 months depending upon country to country requirements and valid for 6 months to 1 year.

But again it depends upon you either you want to submit together with your application to expedite your process or further delay, or you want to wait until the CIC ask you to submit because its not mandatory at the initial level and you can process your application without these. I would recommend if it takes time and you will get your nomination early then don't waste a single day process your application without certificates and mail them later on.

In my case, during the nomination process I was preparing my CIC case and processed the Police Clearance and with in month difference I applied for CIC with certificates.

I hope you get it.....Good Luck!

Thanks so much, dude.. Really appreciated it!

Hi All,

I am completing my application form for OINP however they have asked if I previously applied for Permanent Residence. I did back in 2008 but don't have the information such as date etc. My application was not processed as they had frozen all applicants and changed the classification of Skilled worker. Can I submit my application and indicate that I don't have the information?

Thanks

First integrity is utmost important element for Immigration so always keep in mind we can not hide anything they will pull our info any how...

Now, if you had applied back in 2008, first did you get the acknowledgement (AOR) letter from CIC? if yes then it means they received your application and your data is available in their system. Second, If not then did you write them withdrawal application letter??

If you did not get the acknowledgement letter, or you got it but did not write for withdrawal letter and you didn't know application status no contact with them then write a summary of your previous case add as much as detail you can provide them in term of passport no., DOB etc and explain them your scenario in a brief way so they will pull your data and you won't be questioned for integrity.

or you can call the agent (CIC call centre) they will also guide you.

Good Luck!

Thank you for your help.

I did receive a letter from them indicating that they froze the program etc. however, I can't find the letter. I will call the CIC agent for further assistance.

Thanks again!
