Hi everybody,

I'm sorta lost on that topic as I have not found much about that specific situation.

I just started working remotely from my home country as a contractor for a company in Alberta, its been about a month. As part of the process, the company said that initially I would be working from my home country, but they would issue a closed work permit, so I would be able to go to Alberta and work in their office as everybody else there.

Just today I received a PNP invitation for Ontario. I'm aware that if I accept Ontario will want me to stay and work in Ontario.

Now my question is, can I have this two process running in parallel? Or it would be open for interpretation that my intent is not to settle in Ontario due to the close work permit (that haven't been issued yet).

Are they independent in a way that whichever happens first I can drop the other?

Does anyone have ever faced this situation and can comment about it?

Thanks in advance!

The two process can run in parallel but you are going to put yourself at possible risk of having the PR application refused due to the Alberta work permit.

The work permit shouldn't be impacted in any way.

The PR application will likely be impacted.

As long as you are fine having the PR application refused (and the work permit approved), you can try both in parallel. The PR application will take longer than the work permit.

Thank you very much for the response!
