I received my GCMS notes.

Dated Sept. 4th

Med: Pass
Eligib: Pass
Crim: In Process
Secu: Not Started

Both me and my spouse Criminal says NRT.

Due date 2013/08/01 File with Officer DLXXXXX.

Since July 17,2013 no body touched my file. Looks like it is forgotten some where.

The thing is security checks have not been initiated yet...
And we don't have any security problems...

It doesn't show in GCMS that security is in process or something. My GCMS notes say the same thing, i.e. Not Started. Whether or not you have security problem is not the question. There could be numerous reasons why they would initiate a complete check. A few examples would be random check, a same or similar hit in the data base, suggestion from CSIS, etc. Manubobby had to wait almost a year before he got his pp back in India. I asked him the same question. He too said the same thing. He never had any problem with the law. So, it is really not clear why some common applicants get stuck.

I had to go & take a look at my GCMS note after becoming a PR. Nothing is written for Security. They don't make know their findings or how the security is done. However, what baffles me is yours still saying 'not started'. I will advise you to contact MP. Since you say your Criminality is NRT. It means the officer who should update it hasn't done so. If Criminality is not updated to 'pass', I don't think they can do 'Security' check. In my own case, the officer wrote "Criminality: Please pass criminality...NRT". It was like that for 2 months and file wasn't updated. It is obvious that the note was not meant for me but for the officer that should have passed it.

My GCMS also states eligibility not started security not started..MP said that they were supposed to update file in july but they forgot..Hoping to get an update in 2 weeks time..Ecas still says app received.
