All who have got GCMS notes - I have found out the following regarding GCMS notes after comparing mine and my friend's who got PPR recently:

These are clues that you are about to get PPR..... My friend's GCMS notes say

1. Under Paper File 1 and Paper File 2 - Under location: PV2 Review
2. Under Notes, File ready for review by officer

Mine say for 1. PROV REG (Reg is registry) and 2. Say ready for review by officer

So I am here with you guys (you can imagine how much I love to be here ;)) and my friend is having a blast up in Alberta!

Oh well... a long road ahead.....
I just received my GCMS notes:-

-Paper File 1, Under location it shows: PV2 Review & Paper File 2, Under location it shows: Registry
-Under Notes it shows PA has valid EA, duly signed schedule 4, RCMP Screening passed, India PC on file, passed NRT -RPRF- Complete, File seems ready for officer review

So does it means i'm close to PPR?!!

@ Satraj ... your notes are exactly same as friend's who got his PPR last week. However, we can ONLY guess. And in my GUESS, you should get yours. But then guesswork doesn't work with CIC. So don't quote me! ;)

When was the note that said your file was ready for review dated?
Also does it say 'security started'?

I dig into my notes...

Under notes part End of May: Says For officer review.

Sends to a new officer, requested from someone to ask for personal history for my spouse. This officer still holds my file.

May 2013:
RCMP Screening it says: Valid till 2014 March, Spouses RCMP is sent.

July 30, 2013

I read the http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op01-eng.pdf..

My understanding is RCMP checks are for SECURITY.

Both me and my spouse passed this but not yet updated on file.

Criminality is based on your police certficates... Which is noted on the notes they have it in my application and looks fine.

So my funking application is completed. They need to issue the PPR letter for me.

COMEEEEE ON OTTAWA!!!!

I think we have 3 components to our checks: 1. Background, 2. Criminality, and 3. Security
My question is how CIC does background checks on applicants. By background checks, I assume that they must cross-check the information that we have provided on the application forms, e.g. education, travel history, addresses etc. My GCMS notes say the following (copied and pasted as it is)

PA single, no DEPs listed on file - Duly signed Schedule 4 on file; Information provided on forms consistent with accompanying
documentation -PN Approval Letter on file:AB -PA has valid copy of ppt; Validity date: 2020/02/17 Medicals:
Valid to 2014/05/28 Criminality: -RCMPScreening Passed NRT; validity to 2014/05/14 -FBI Clearance on file;
passed NRT -Indian PC on file original; passed NRT -RPRF-complete File ready for officer review

When is the date that they wrote this?

Wow....what can I say? They're so callous.

I applied on August 11 and received it today. There is a delay because of the strike. I guess you will receive it early next week.
