I have a friend who submitted to CIO in June 2012. He got PPR 3 weeks ago.
AMZA, Holygun, Samlogani, Pari, Edmontonbound, Joie, etc...Please, keep the faith alive.

Yeah, seing cases like your friend's from june 2012, just adds insult to injury for all of those who have been waiting way over CIC irrealistic timelines.

its feels good when i see people's application progress for that final stamp on your passport ;D. its really not easy ,but its worth it..

now my application for CIC has begun, but as time goes on , i might need some clarification from you all.

but am so worried about someone, which is my spouse, am not married yet, but hoping to marry before this year runs out, how do you think i can process her application with mine. i really dont want delay in my application. my LOA will expire on the 30th of october. and i wldnt want to forfeit my visa if i later now get to canada, and then apply for her separately.

its kinda hard, making me confuse on what decision i should make. please friends here kindly advise me on what to do.

For March and April 2012 applicants waiting...
Do not be dismayed. This is the explanation of what I think is happening. For Jan to May 2012 applicants, CIO only checked for money & complete application documents. Then, they send the documents to CPP-Ottawa. The day CPP-Ottawa receives it, they send for batch RCMP check and get the result that same day. On the next day, they issue the AOR & Medical forms (if all things go well) and they start 'Criminality' check.
After Buffalo was closed on 29th May 2012, CPP-Ottawa stopped focusing on Buffalo Applicants and CIO took over the start of 'Eligibility' and 'Criminality' checks. Then they transfer the file to Ottawa. This is why Post July 2012 applicants are getting response faster than Pre July, 2012. 'in Process' for post July 2012 applicants is not the same as 'in process' for Pre July 2012 applicants.
Post July 2012 applicants go in process once CIO does the 'eligibility' first and starts the 'criminality'. Meanwhile, for Pre July 2012, apart from 'Criminality' that is started on the day you receive the AOR, no other checks is done until 'YOU ARE ASSIGNED AN OFFICER'. In fact, many people already pass 'Criminality' but they are not known (not all). But once the Officer looks at the file, he will make recommendations to pass the 'criminality' after which he/she does the 'eligibility'. After the Eligibility is passed, then it goes 'in process' that same day. After that day, 'Security' checks are started and other things necessary to finalize the application. If it's one person, it is faster (although some countries get processed faster than others) but if it contains spouse and dependent children, it is different (especially if the spouse and/or children is not resident in Canada).

I don't know how long the security process takes. It varies depending on your country of origin. It also depends on where you have travelled to during the past years.
If you have a spouse that resides outside canada, it is also different. Canada will not have FOSS record of your spouse. Hence, only the local Canadian Visa Office serving your country will be able to do that.
So, you can't pin point the exact date...but one thing is sure, Jan and Feb 2012 applicants will get response before the end of the month.
