I checked the processing times for PNP application on CIC website, its 11 months now. I called cal center, talked to agent for 30 minutes and kind of got a hint that as I am in Canada my file will be opened in January end.

it was hard to get a direct reply.
you mean end of january?

Will be opened means, it is gonna just start processing? so more than 11 months?
What do you think?

I'm a January 2012 applicant. On the 20th will be one year since my application was received. Really frustrated. Anyone has a guess when January people should hear something? Thanks and happy new year.

I truly understand your frustration... I'm a QSW applicant and according to the processing times on the CIC website, it's an average of 9 months for us. At the end of January my application it will have been 11 months already. I'm positive that the journey will soon be over for us because they have now opened the new FSW stream and changed CEC policies, so it means that they would have more people to work on applications, otherwise they wouldn't be accepting more. Lets hang in there...

I don't think there will be recruitment of new people for the new streams and changed CEC policies... They are cutting on cost, thats why they closed 19 CIC offices including buffalo, They wouldn't have lay'ed off 75 people working in the Buffalo office only.... But using smart and centralised system they are bringing in may cause faster processing in future

Word to focus on here is "May".. The work permit processing time on CIC website is 82 days. Can you believe that?

They should give local Work Province office authority to issue SIN and Work Permit at the same time.

Everything is being delayed by Immigration department.

I hope an immigrant can be in charge of all these processes, who understand the process, the frustration and whats stake in here

In US, you can get a TRV for 5 or 10 years years, even when your work permit expires before that.

In Canada, you will have to apply for a different TRV all the time. just more paper work and more work for Govt. employees and Immigration Deptt.

I know so many skilled people who are leaving Canada, because of this frustration. Well, I hope someone looks into it and make sure that policy change doesn't impact people who are waiting for documents and stuff

Happy New Year all! It'll be a full year at the beginning of next month since I sent my application in. I would have thought to be well on my way in settling in Canada by now. I find it frustrating that we don't know what's going on. Is there no real way to know what's going on with our file? Even after this long? I'm wondering if there's a recourse I haven't used or thought about so far. Any thoughts?
