I'm really keeping my fingers crossed for all of us.. I'm a QSW applicant and it's 9 months for us. This Wednesday will be my 9th month and I'm really hoping the big day will come soon...

Do you all think that it's worth asking for specific update if it's been more than 9 months? Are we more likely to get more details if that's the case? My life's been on hold for quite some time now, this process is really getting the best of me at this point...

Yeah I want March 2012 applicants to start receiving PPRs so I can have better hope of getting PPR for my April 2012 application soon. So far, most PPR were for January and February 2012 applicants.

Effective November 27, 2012 Case Processing Pilot-Ottawa (CPP-O) will begin to print Confirmation of Permanent Residence (CoPR) documents and permanent resident visa counterfoils (if required) for applications processed to finalization in that office.

I wonder if we will still receive a PPR email, or if it will just be a physical letter we will receive that we'll have to present when we "land"?

Sorry, I am kinda confused. Can anyone please explain lil bit more in detail. From what I have read, it means they won't ask for Passport anymore instead they will send some document.

It means that it will not be required to send original passport or copies of passport pages (if you are from visa-exempt countries) to Detroit. Still we have to do landing procedure either at the border or in local CIC office, I think.

I am not from a visa exempt country and I am in Canada. Seems like we will have to send original passports to Ottawa for visa counterfoils.

Thank you for the answer. I hope that it's still going to be faster than the usual way.

Thanks.

atakancim,

you don't need a visa if you are in canada, you can do your landing in Canada at a CIC office nearby.
