still, all this process is moving very slow. Also I heard CIC offices usually remain closed between Dec15-JAN1.
Is there anyone who can throw a light on this? I am hoping this should be rumour nothing else!!!

thats not true. statutory holidays are 25-26 Dec and Jan 1st only, unless they are using their vacations, thats all they have...

They updated the processing times on the CIC website. CPP-Ottawa now appears, and it's an average of 11 months processing time for PNP.

All, I have a question, any help from anyone will be greatly appreciated;

I am in Canada on a TRV (Work Permit) , I have applied for my PR, got my MR AOR on 25-4-2012 and haven't received my PPR yet. I called call centre 1888-242 on 16th Nov. after talking to agent for 35 mins, she kind of gave a hint that it'll take atleast couple of months for my PPR.

I am a BC PNP nominee, my WP is expiring on 22nd Jan 2012, but I have already got the renewal letter. I am on vacation in India and will be applying for my WP in Dec.

Here's the question; I came on vacation to India and m getting married soon; like next week.
1) How can I sponsor my spouse? I am on a TRV (Worker) in Canada
2) What visa is best (Dependent visa or something else)
3) When should I let CIC know that m getting married
4) Any particular links on CIC website will be greatly appreciated.

Please, any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you :)

Hi Samlogani,

1. You can either bring your spouse as dependent or on visit visa-it’s your call.
2. I think the best way would be going for visit visa, when you apply for your TRV (after getting the new WP)- include her application as well. she can stay here for 6 months(can be extended).Once you get your PR- you can apply for her PR as well.
3. Once you are back in Canada, let CIC (OttPilot-Immigration@cic.gc.ca) know about the change in your marital status
4. Heads up-

Work Permit
Apply for your WP asap , the processing time is around 60-80 days.

TRV
Processing time is around 100 days.

For some of the goverment departments such as as city halls etc. christmas holidays are from 1 to 2 weeks, so CPP-O might fall under that; however for the private sector there are only three stat holidays.

Include me as well in the count for the applicants, who have'nt got their PPR...I am BC PNP applicant with application received on March 05, 12 and Meds done on 28th Apr, 12

As for your work permit extension it is different case, you will get that extended on behalf of your nomination, 2nd thing about your marriage, well if you get married before your stamping of PR and Landing it will be a big change in your current file of PR.

now the question is that where is your file? New Delhi or anywhere in North America?

I understand WP is not an issue, I have all the required docs with me already and my wp extension will be with same employer, it should be processed in 30 days or so.

my file is in N america

My spouse is in india....

I understand the big change in my file,

my main concern is how to Apply for visitor visa? or spouse visa ?
