Thanks Prasamp.
I just spoke to the lady at the MP's office and she said that Ottawa has received my RCMP fingerprinting scan results finally. This means that "Criminality" is passed and now they will start "Security". It is known to take 3 to 8 weeks according to her. With that complete everything should be in place for the PPR.
I have been looking at my GCMS notes and linking them to other information I have gathered over time. This is the simplified version of the process Ottawa follows in my understanding. Hope this will help people who are looking at GCMS noted and dont know what timeline they are looking at.
1. Application received at Ottawa.
2. Initial review of file for completeness of application. Once deemed complete Medical Requests are sent out. Medicals don't seem to have dependency or hinder the request for other assessments
3. Next, Eligibility (check if all information presented in the application matches the documentation and the applicant scores the necessary points etc). This is in addition to the screening done by your province. Once eligibility is done the status moves into ‘In process'
4. Once ‘In Process' the Criminality check is started. This includes the Police Certificate, FBI report etc. RCMP initial criminality check is performed on the database. Cases in which last name first names are common, RCMP finger print scan request is issued.
5. After a positive criminality check, Security check (aka background check) is issued. This is specific to the countries you have lived in and travel etc. Estimated time 3 to 8 weeks.
6. A positive outcome of all the above results in a PPR email
For those who have never ordered a GCMS note, the above assessment criteria (Medical, Security, Criminality, Eligibility etc) are indicated with their status changes and dates indicated. Based on that information you could predict to reassure yourself of where your file is and how long it might take. Also it is a very handy tool to pinpoint any missing documents etc.
