Thanks shadyhashem, so under implied status they stop processing the application. So do you think its safe to renew the work permit 2/3 months before it expires and then update CIC once this approved, so the application never goes to the halt state? Thanks

the processing time for a wp renewal is about 2 months so thats perfect time to renew the work before it expires ... you may be lucky and the officer doesnt look at the expiry date of the work permit if you dont renew it however my friend did contact a lawyer and she said "they dont even bother to look at the expiry date of the wp" but they actually did in his case and you dont know if you are lucky or not ... so please be in the safe side and renew the wp on time

I was wondering if asking for GCMS notes would in any ways slow down the process of getting PPR.

2 different department. Nothing to do with your file. This is a right given to anyone to get some info on his/her file.

Thanks for the reply. How long does it take them to e-mail the report.

It takes a month. The report however would be for the date usually close to the date that you sent it out for :) They hoard it for a month and then mail it out to you.

I know few cases were request for GCMS notes and the date of PPR issuance were pretty close. I am not sure if one had anything to do with the other. I have read an earlier comment that GCMS notes might have triggered the PPR mail as well. No proof for this though.

And yes, all request of Information would be logged in your file but doesnt have any negative effects on yur PR process.

Well I have requested for the GCMS notes today. I have requested for the Electronic file over the physical file and i have not provided my home address just the e-mail address. I wanted to know is electronic file good enough and if there is any problem if I didnt provide my home address just the e-mail address.

Guys, Not sure if anyone can help me here. I got my AOR on 25th April 2012, in the bottom I have signature of the person (Visa Officer) who sent me the AOR a CPP-O number. I called the number today as I am not able to get hold of CIC call center number, a gentleman answered my phone and advised that my VO doesnt work in office anymore.I asked him to provide a status update on my file, he said he can't help me

Now, I am in limbo here, I am not sure what route to take and bring my file in process again..

Any advice / suggestion will be immensely helpful

Recently I checked the spreadsheet and I found that you are and OPNP applicant and also found out that none of the OPNP applicants have got their PPR so far. I guess we should do something about it.
