Yes, finally got the PPR email today. More of a relief than happiness really at this point. I got the PPR today, so the Tue theory for CP-O is just rubbish. Anyways, I am glad that the wait is finally over.

Congrats...Was your ecas showing in process?

I am a bit confused. The below link states the following. I applied for CAN PR from outside Canada (i.e. USA) and got my PPR email from CPP-O, my question is - do I have the option to submit my passport in person to the Detroit office? Has anyone who applied for Can PR from the US, submitted their passport for stamping in person to the Detroit office?

"Attention:

The Canadian visa office in Detroit no longer offers same-day non-immigrant services. Applicants for Temporary Resident Visas, and Permanent Resident Travel Documents must submit applications by mail only.

If you applied for permanent residence in Canada and you have received a notification from our office, the Case Processing Pilot Office in Ottawa or the Canadian Consulate General in Buffalo requesting you to submit your passport(s) to our office you may do so in person on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 8:30 – 11:00 am. Your passport(s) may be returned to you the same day. You must bring the notification with you."

I think BKD1969 went to Detroit just recently (last week??) to get his PP stamped the same day. You can ask him directly.

Congrats first.

next is what I posted last month. You need to make sure if you need US visa to go to Detroit. YOU CAN land on your back to home.

" I drove to Detroit today in person and got visas. no photo on the visa. Two COPRs for each person. One has photo and another COPR has no photo on it. The 2nd photo returned to me. I paid US$980 for 2 adults. no payment for kids. No visa for kids since they are US citizens, but they do have their own COPRs. I arrived there about 9 am. About 6 persons there in line and most from Canada. We were told to pick up at 2 pm. When I came back at 1:30, most of them had taken their passports already and gone. I saw only 2 folders waiting for pickup. The deadline to land is May 2 2013, the day before medical exam anniversary. All done. "

@ BKD1969...He's already in USA! So he can go to where ever he wants in the US.

Correct, I have been living in the USA since the last 8 years, I dont need a visa to travel within USA. Alright, so from what I understand, although I applied for PR from outside Canada, I am still eligible to submit and collect my passport the same day from Detroit. I was just confused with the wording on their website.

It said, you are eligible for same day pickup only if you applied for PR in CAN.

where you live? if too far, you have to fly to detroit. or mail to them to save money. it will take 1 to 2 months to get visa and passport back.

I really want to save time rather than money. I guess I will just fly there one of these days as I get time.
