@ Mannubobby, Mysteryocean

I see an additional line in ECAS as - "Medical results have been received."

you're pretty close to getting decision made, going by timeline, i can expect mine change this week. i hope it goes through!!

thats exactly my case..because i got my medical 07 feb 2012 but i did it on 16 march 2012 so it is almost 6 months and so far it doesnt say in process just medical received ... and all my friends who applied around the same time (Jan 11 2012) it shows on the ecas in process or they already got the PPR and i when i sent them an email they replied and they said

Dear Sir/Madam,

Due to the high volume of correspondence received, we are unable to provide a status update to you. The officer responsible for your file will contact you if any action is required from you. Please note the standard processing times for applications for permanent residence within the category in which you have applied are available on our website at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-ec.asp . In the meantime, please ensure your information is kept up-to-date, particularly if there is a change in your marital status or in the event of a birth or death in your family. You must also advise this office of any change to your contact information, such as a change in your residential or e-mail address.

Regards,

it is very scary for me ???

Congratulations! Around the same time for Jan/Dec 2011 applicants, we see notices of new information, updates in ECAS and messages sent. Generally, any news is better than no news at all!

Cheers to all!

From 'Application Received' it only changed to 'In Process' 2 days after I got PPR via email. Have to admit - i was of those logging everyday to check status :)

thats proves that ecas is useless and you cant rely on it :(

I would not say useless - to others who do not have means to get GCMS notes readily or have not gotten any word from CIC either via email, snail mail or via call center, ECAS is their main means of checking progress on their applications.

It is just that if you want some peace of mind should you see the timelines have exceeded that of normal processing or a reply from CIC should be due, one should not entirely rely on ECAS, and look of alternative ways to get information from CEM. In my opinion, ECAS should be combined with other ways - then you have the most information about your application.

As a shout out and thanks to manu (TS) and the other elders on this forum and thread, ECAS should be combined with the information and advise of all those in this forum and thread, such that we applicants have other ways and know methods to get information on our applications

Cheers to all - and may there be more good news to all in the coming days!

totally agree but when the ecas doesn't make any sense ... just ignore it....i guess the next step for me to request the GCMS notes ... because i am under the impression that because i did my medical a little bit late... they are delaying my process :S

It might take a little longer for them to complete processing my application, because of my travel history.

i think it has nothing to do with the travel history .... because my friend has a lot of travel history (12 countries) and we applied on the same day and i got the medical before him and he got the PPR 2 weeks ago and i am not even in process

Is his VO also Ottawa?

It seems that Ottawa keeps moving on slowly. Some cases that medical was done in March have received PPR. Hopefully, our cases, having medical done between April and May, will received PPR next month

fingers crossed
