You are very confused my friend. Foreign service is -THE GOVERNMENT.its a highly sought after position, if they don't like it then quit! And in Canada even private companies, if they big enough will not screw yu over. They are afraid for their reputation, and the fact that you can file a lawsuit. So unfortunately I don't agree with you

All who have got GCMS notes - I have found out the following regarding GCMS notes after comparing mine and my friend's who got PPR recently:

These are clues that you are about to get PPR..... My friend's GCMS notes say

1. Under Paper File 1 and Paper File 2 - Under location: PV2 Review
2. Under Notes, File ready for review by officer

Mine say for 1. PROV REG (Reg is registry) and 2. Say ready for review by officer

So I am here with you guys (you can imagine how much I love to be here ) and my friend is having a blast up in Alberta!

Oh well... a long road ahead.....

**GCMS notes were requested on July 14, and was generated July 18. Arrived in email August 16.

Pls help me figure these out @ coshx and Edmontonbound... What do these actually imply... Yeah far from PPR, hehe

Paper file history 1 location is same as mine and my friend, i.e. PROV REG. However, Paper file history 2 location indicates to me that an officer (EG00203) was working on your file at the time your notes were generated. If your case hasn't been reviewed by an officer (see your NOTES section), then Location now should be PROV REG. In my opinion someone just opened your file, updated some stuffs. Like PA (principal applicant) med received. Please tell us what do your notes say?

just got a call from my mp's office ... they contacted cic regarding my file and said the background checks are still in progress even after 3 months of file being in process and it was reviewed on 14 aug . they have adviced to check for an update in 3 months. but they say theres a good chance they will contact me before that. dont know what to say about the situation. they say its still within their standard processing time. like really ? is this going to take a life long span ?

Hi Ciao,
Don't be scared. Your file is progressing well. Yes. your officer's code is EG00203. What happens is this...Your file gets taken off the shelf (HD1-2) and placed in PROV-REG in queue for processing by an officer. After a few days, a preliminary officer reviews your file and checks if medical needs to be extended & also if RPRF has been paid, while still in the queue. On the day the queue gets to your turn to have an officer, another officer opens the file and assigns it to an officer who happens to be the location of the file (on the desk). If medical extensions were required, your officer requests for it & then perform the Eligibility check. If passed, he puts it in process and then fix a date a due date for medical result. The officer doesn't keep file on his/her desk forever. They work on it & then log it back in the PROV-REG. PROV-REG is a registry of applications being processed. These processing are done on the computer in GCMS & not by hand even though the paper application you submitted is on file. On the next BFD date, the officer reviews the file again until all needed details are addressed. After which it goes for the final review & then GBAM...PPR.
Your case is the same as mine. My file was taken off shelf (HD1-2) on 14th March 2013 and placed in the PROV-REG. On 19th March 2013, another officer opens my file & makes a note for medical to be extended. On 27th March 2013, the file was opened & assigned to an officer (KLxxxx) who happens to be the location of the file. The officer reviewed the file on the same day, performs the Eligibility check and requested for medical extension with due date of April 26, 2013 (initial review & says file ready for assessment). On 17th April, officer opens the file and inputs the new medical information & then logs it back into the PROV-REG.

After then, I got my PPR on May 14, 2013...Meanwhile, I'm still waiting for my new GCMS notes so I can know how the final decisions are made. Until then, I will keep you posted.

@Blindsniper....have you ever odered GCMS notes? Your timeline is almost same as mine. Hence, your update is quite discouraging for me - least to say. Where are you from, if I may ask?
