I wish to see them *really* respect the timeline they promised...
 
I am losing the hope in the entire immigration system; consulates outside Canada are processing applications at faster rate then CPP-O, also people in immigration need to realize that they are preventing all the applicants from their future opportunities by delaying the applications.

In operational bulletin they say that,

If you are in-land applicant and if your initial medical was done in 2012, they will extend it automatically. If you are out of Canada, no matter what if it is expired you will be asked to redo it.

If you are in Canada and your spouse or dependents are out of Canada, they will be asked to redo. You since in Canada, you will not be asked to redo.

my friend is in canada and he never left since his medical...he paid the 490 march of 2012 and he never heard back from them since then
