Hello All

How does the PNP nomination work? Do we need to create an Express Entry profile and also apply for PNP separately? or creating EE would be enough to get the nomination?

Provincial nominations have 2 distinct streams - EE and non-EE (regular PNP).

For the EE stream, you will need to create an EE profile, be eligible for the PNP-EE stream and either apply to the province (MPNP, NBPNP, SINP, NSPNP etc) or wait for the province to invite you (OOPNP).

Creating an EE profile is a necessary but not sufficient criterion to get an provincial nomination. Read through the individual PNP threads on the forum and visit the provincial websites for more information.

That depends on personal situation.

Almost all provinces have a differential quota for EE and non EE programs and, in most cases, different eligibility criteria as well. Applicants from outside Canada are eligible for all EE based PN programs but that is not the case for all non-EE programs most of which require some prior link to the province in terms of education, work experience, job offer, relative etc.

Read through the various threads on this forum about EE streams of various provincial nomination programs and visit their website for non EE programs/read about those in the PNP section of this forum for more information and take a decision based on that.
