PNP based Work Permit

Hi,

My husband is currently working in canada on open wp. His WP will expire on May 15th 2015. He has applied PR for both of us in Nov 2014 on PNP from Novo scotia. As most of you guys, we too are waiting for our AOR.

Now since his wp is close to expiry, he has applied for wp extension with PNP certificate. Not sure if he will receive an Open WP or a Closed WP.

Currently I am on visitor visa. After receiving his WP, what will be my chances of getting an Open WP if he gets a Closed WP? Please help

You can apply for an Open Work Permit if your husband get an extension but the decision whether you're eligible or not will be based on his NOC.

Since he has applied with a Provincial certificate, he will end up getting a work permit Closed to the PROVINCE, that means He can Work only in that Province until his PR application gets approved,

where as in your case, you may be eligible for an Open Work Permit or will have the same status as your husband, that means you will have a Closed Work permit to the province as well, so both of you can work in the same province until your PR gets approved normally 6-8 months.

She will get open permit, only husband gets closed one.

And again, this has been answered so so so SO many times. People need to start reading the posts before filling the forum with new posts with same questions over and over.

You need to first tell the base of his current WP he holding , was it after completing his education or what ? and his NOC code. based of NOC code and min 6 six validity of his WP , then only u can apply for OWP and you will get it...

Or once he get his AOR and if he get BOWP , on base of it u can get OWP...
