You are right Mr. Arvind, but I have one suggestion that don,t mention that you could get fired.
Rather than that mention "I came to India for submission of my passport (which was received on 9 March at CHC-ND), I have taken vacations from job and I have to rejoin by ....(provide a date showing descent gap). For your information I am attaching proof of delivery of passport and return ticket of my flight"

Send them this letter via Case Specific Enquiry link ( https://dmp-portal.cic.gc.ca/cicemail/intro-eng.aspx?mission=new%20delhi ) . ALSO DO ATTACH LETTER FOR PASSPORT SUBMISSION SENT BY CHC-ND. You would have to make one single PDF file comprising Proof of Delivery, Return Ticket & Letter from CHC new Delhi. Then further you can attach it.

I sent my passport on mar 9 ... Bro am sure it takes a month to get back .. bt after checking our forum am worried , waiting time gone up to even 2 months .. its so stupid even cic delhi is not responding to our mails ... i gt my medical request and passport request all in E-mail .. I believe they will start sending our passport with landing papers back from April . the guy who came befor me frm Regina , he gt stamped on jan after him there are many ppl who gt passport request and still waiting . hopefully they will start sending by April . i will send them the mail as the earliest . I even gt de letter from my employer - Vacation approval letter (date of vacation start and ends and my rejoining dates ) hopefully it shuld work ...

Thats what now it shows on my ECAS. Before it was saying IN PROCESS.
So should i pre-assume i am going to get my passport very soon ?
Though when i click on DECISION MADE it shows the same things which it use to show on clicking IN PROCESS i.e.

We received your application for permanent residence on November 1, 2011.

We started processing your application on February 1, 2012.

Medical results have been received.

My status got changed to IN PROCESS around 6 Feb ( Almost 2 month ago) the deadline of submission was 22 March 2012, i submitted my passport on 15 Feb 2012, consider the fact that most of the time they reopen/ recheck your file on or after deadline, i would suggest that the file reaches the next level i.e. DECISION MADE within a week after deadline. Accordingly you can figure out when your status is going to change to DECISION MADE.

Bro my status changed to in process on feb 2 and i gt passport request on feb 3 . bt it took a whie fr me to come India . cic newdelhi received my passport on mar 9 . MY deadline was 24 th of march .. so it took nearly 45 days in ur case .. bro i can expect to change it in fortcoming weeks . do give me a call once u gt your passport back .

I your ecas status would change around 4-5 April and you should get your passport on or before 12 April 2012.
I would definitely call you once i get my passport in my hands.

congrats gst....m case is quite different...everyone gets Passport request once their status changes to INPROCESS...but in my case it didnt happen...They asked me for passport and permanent residence Fee and medical all together :( and now its three months are past...no response from CIC :( M worried after going this forum posts....!!!
