Hmmm...... Don't really know but i wanted to try it but was being told in the terms that you won't get updates by mails again. I just declined and maybe I haven't understood the English so let someone that knows this explain better to our understanding. Thanks.

I also did not link mine, I am satisfied with checking via "check your application staus" for the same fear Teju has ie "you may not be able to get updates on via mail"

I will recommend you link you application. 1010 had a great success with real time information by linking his application. For example, he was able to know when he pass Medical after that Ghana sent letter for Passport request. Also, the status shows this application has been approved, 4 days after Ghana sent letter for pick up.

The great advantage of linking ur account is that u will get more details on the process of ur application compare to what u ll see on ECAS. The line details of an application linked to my CIC account is close to what u will get when u order for GCMS note.
Even if u are yet to get MR...u can get to know if CIC has started some other checks concerning ur application.
