Merry Christmas all and a Prosperous New Year ahead!!!

Please i want to find out if the temporary drivers license is usable in Canada and if its advisable (or advantageous) to get the current drivers license from FRSC before coming to Canada. We are about to renew our licenses.

Thank you and regards

The thread is dying bcos AVO is not updating.

It is difficult to say that the thread is dying. If you look around the CIC and LVO world, you will agree with me that updates for certain streams and categories has been unnecessarily slow. Christmas and New Year is in the air, Express Entry launching staring them in the face and the urge to move so many FSW to current period is another challenge. (My Opinion)

If you ask me, i will say that AVO has exhausted its PNP target for 2014 and we can only hope they kick start the 2015 process as fast as possible in 2015.

When you also compare our forum with 2013 and 2014 Naija applicant forum, it is hard to deduce how AVO is working because we have no spreadsheet. I have had cause to even ask some forumers here their application stage or status and i didn't get any response, so if AVO is working and no one updates or discloses, its as good as thinking the forum is dying.

Let us look forward to positive updates from January 2015. It is well.

Happy new year to all.

God, please let door of CIC and AVO open to your children right from this moment.

Let our forum be filled with positive and powerful updates.

Read from you in 2015

Try to get the original plastic card but if you cant then come with your temporary licence issued but i cant guarantee u ll drive with that, to be on a safer side u can make an international drivers licence to back the temporary licence up. but i seriously recommend you try to get ur original drivers licence if u have the time. it will enable u drive here for 3months and to practice their ways of driving. my dear driving here is a whole new ball game, pls take note. i have bin driving for more than 20yrs in nigeria, its just rubbish we r doing in 9ja my 20yrs driving skills is rubbish compared to what i see here i tell u

HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!!!

Thanks lilbro for the info.

Just that the unnecessary delay of getting the license is what worries me. Wld start the process immediately though.

I just pray Accra answear us this year with same speed or better speed as our fellow FSW from Naija.

Regards

Happy New Year All!!!

Wishing us all a prosperous new year. It's my prayer that we shall all have flood of good news.

With the Express Entry potentially changing Canada immigration process, I hope that AVO will devote enough resources to speedily clear all files on their desks. As earlier alluded to by seniors on the forum, AVO must have exhausted their PNP quotas - for example, from AVO audit report of 2012 a total of about 600 PNP visas were processed in 2012 and with the quota staying fairly same over the past 3 years, one can safely assume that the quota will be quickly reached.

Once again, greetings to everyone and I hope there will be enough updates to steer activities on this thread in 2015.

Cheers,

Ofis

I quite agree with Ofis and i still like to reiterate that probably visa exhaustion was the cause of the delay but we can only pray they kick off as soon as possible in 2015.

Below is the extract i got from their site. Although it was update April 2014 but i guess last year target for PNP was 800.

Thanks to all

HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!!!

I pray this year be is a glorious year for us all IJN - Amen.

Want to find out if those who have received AOR, MR (Medical Request) and have done medicals since mid last year would still apply for Express Entry or they don't need to as CIC would process their application on the previous system?

Thank you and regards

No need to apply for EE again!

Another Week ends!!!

Hello House,

The wait has been so hard but we have no choice than to persevere.

I have a question for the guru. I am expecting my PPR any moment from now but I have a Visiting visa that will expire in 2016. What will be the status of the Visa when the PR comes. I am asking because I am looking at the possibility of travelling before I get my PR card after landing.

Thank you.

I agree with buzzcana but my fear is that could it be that PNP is on hold or this is the normal trend?

How come they have resumed with fsw again and we are still expectant.

I wish all of us goodluck

I don't know if they currently place PNP on hold but they have given more preference to FSW. Some of the FSW that started in 2014 have gotten visa. Some were called for medicals as late as Oct 2014 and yet they have got PPR.

But like I said, we have to wait patiently.

It is well!
