It seems to me that applications going thru' HKVO are suffered a prolonged processing due to the transfer of applications from Beijing VO. Anyone who is applying thru'HKVO, please connect in here to share info. My timeline can be seen on the left-hand side column.

Hi Patrick,

I have applied MPNP in December, 2013. I have yet to receive LOA. Although I am a Bangladesh citizen, currently I am living in Beijing, China. I will stay here until May, 2016. Now, I am planning to chose my VO as HK. However, according to your information, HK is taking a long time to process the application. I just want to know from you, why HKVO needs to send the PNP file to Beijing? I read in the Beijing visa office web site that for PNP applications are processed by HKVO. Would you mind to share more information regarding this matter. Finally, I would appreciate if you comment on my choice of VO as HK, if I receive LOA from MPNP.

Hi Eusufzai, please refer to the following thread regarding files being transferred from Beijing to Hong Kong VO starting April this year as per CIC.

I suspect that it may take much longer time as quoted in CIC website to process all applications due to this. Of course, personally, I hope this transfer of applications shall not have any impact on the process time.
