We applied via FSW post February 27th. My hubby principal applicant is NOC 7212 on application. According to NOC 7212: "This group also includes supervisors who supervise and co-ordinate the activities of workers classified in the following unit groups: Electricians (7241), Industrial Electricians (7242)" As you know both 7241 & 7242 are on the list. Now to my problem, my hubby is a trained certified Industrial Electrician (7242) which has enabled him to be NOC 7212. What can we do as NOC 7212 is on his application, but his certificates states he's a certified INDUSTRIAL ELECTRICIAN and he has worked several years in this field.

When he was listing his work experiences, did he list any years in there as 7242? That would make it easier to send a letter to the visa office to say that he wants to amend his application to go under 7242 instead of 7212. You should definitely try that anyway. If it doesn't work, they will send your application back with a refund and then you apply again as 7242.

I would think that you have to be a Trained Electrician to be supervising & coordinating the work of Electricians.

I doubt that they will be checking each application and re-assigning NOC codes from what you applied under, but you can wait and see what happens. If it was me, I would contact them and say you want to amend the NOC on the application but of course it is up to you what you do.

Leon I sent a letter & amended experience sheet to CIC today. I'm hoping this is fine as I notice too the wrong NOC was used since Industrial Electrician Apprentice is 7242 and we used NOC 2241 and there is no apprenticeship occupation listed under NOC 2241 don't know how we made that mistake, so hopefully they notice the NOC number does not correspond to the occupation title and my letter will back-up this claim. Additionally we have certificates that corresponds to NOC 7242.

Thanks again for your advice.

Good. I hope it works out for you.

Hi all,

We received our 120 days letter from CHC today. Our status was changed to decision made in early January. I know many persons have questions regarding post Feb 27th 2008 application, so apparently decision made status on e-cas before medicals is not necessarily a rejection.

Good luck to all.

Thats true. I applied after Nov 2008.

When I look at my application online, it says withdrawn and then if i click on withdraw, it says a decision was made and you will be notified soon. This was dated the day they made the decision that i can send in my documents to my visa office.

Just to update you guys.....we received our medical request in June 2009. You can read my case above.
Goodluck to all.
