STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Introduction:
I am ...................................................., Distt Ludhiana, Punjab ,India. Through this statement of purpose, please allow me to explain my choice of course, the career prospects it would provide me and my eligibility to complete the same successfully.
Academic/Professional Background:
I was brought up in a well educated family and this helped me to maintain a consistent and excellent academic record; I completed my Bachelor of Computer Applications under the Punjab technical university Syllabus with first division. In this degree, I studied about computer and networking subjects. In this program students are exposed to various areas of computer applications including the latest development keeping pace with the industry. I was kindled with an ambition of higher education that would give a desired push to my career. With a strong will to pursue my further studies in Canada, I prepared for the IELTS examination and scored 7.0 bands. I did Matriculation with 60.23% and Senior Secondary with 63.11% from Punjab school education board, Mohali .I got training in Networking and Telecommunications from Group of Corporate Training & Technical Education (ZCC) in which we have to submit a project report about the project you chosen.
I was also keep participating in competitions as I participated in the state/district level cultural event miss punjaban as the part of 11th international exclusive beauty pageant Miss World Punjaban 2010.
Why Canada:
After consulting with my peers and seniors and checking course contents thoroughly, I am convinced that Canada is a better option compared to other destinations as it has developed a first rate Education system with high standards and Global recognition. Canadian culture is more diverse and vibrant. It is considered peaceful, safe and orderly country. Being a country of immigrants from all over the World, different perspectives are respected and learning together is encouraged. Tuition fees and living expenses are also in favor of Canada when compared to other countries with equally good education system.
Why Humber College:
I have come to learn that the Georgian College is one of largest, most diversified and highly respected colleges in Canada. The facilities offered by the College will help me gain experience be it social, recreational or my personal development. This program brings together participants from all over the world, so I would be in contact with diverse cultures and I would also develop an international network. It would be very rewarding to share and exchange thoughts and ideas with a group of people who are from different nationalities, cultural orientations and schools of thought on one platform. The college provides excellent facilities and opportunities which is ideal for me in pursuing my specialization, since it provides a unique mix of educational advantages.
Why wireless telecommunications:
For doing this post graduate diploma I got training in networking and telecommunications because I have much interest in technical field. This PGD is only of one year and I can save my time as well. If I do this in India then I will have to spend more than one year but it is available as short term diploma course in Humber College. Other reason, India’s telecommunication network is the second largest in the world based on the total number of telephone users and the major sectors of the Indian telecommunication industry are telephony, internet and television broadcasting, so I would get better job opportunities from many companies in India with good pay scale after completing this course.
