I'm a Canadian citizen.
Just for background, this is my mom's 3rd visit to canada on supervisa. On previous two occassions, she stayed for just 6 months and went back to India.
My mom's supervisa and passport is expiring on Jan 23, 2021. My mom arrived in Canada on 17 oct, 2020.
When she landed, she told the POE offficer that she wants to stay for 1 year on supervisa. But due to her pp expiring soon, the officer gave her a visitor record with expiry on 23 dec, 2020 and medical required for any extension
I got her passport renewed and is now valid until year 2030 and also medical done.
Below are my queries:
1) I will apply for a new visitor record extension. Can i apply for visitor record extension for more than 6 months(until oct2021)?
2) for extension, they are asking to provide proof of funds for stay in canada. But she came on supervisa with 1 year of medical insurance. If she is sponsored to come here, do I still need to show her proof of funds?
3) what do i write in the Funds for stay in extension application form?
Kindly help asap!! I will need to file online extension before nov 23 for her.
