If your results are going to be declared only after 3 months that is mostly March 2017 how will you submit your transcript for Jan 2017? Also you are already a UG holder and diploma is a level lesser than UG as far as i know. it would be better if you try for may 2017 and for PG diploma. But still this is my opinion and lets see what others prefer for you. :)

If the VISA officers use the education information or work experience information merely to gauge the relevance to the course we are taking and also weigh the need and interest we have to take that up (having known the underlying fact that everyone is in one way a potential immigrant, which Canada aspires too but does not wish someone to settle illegally), then in this case, backlogs or low scores should not matter if the course we are choosing is inline with the recent work experience. For example, in case the job is in Pharmacy with 5 years of experience and the course is in Pharmacy too, then a good work tenure will override the academic scores which would be unjustifiable infront of the work experience / bypass the need to evaluate the scores against the course opted for.. in such a case, the VISA should be accepted..

this is just a thought.. but not a sure-shot outcome..
