hi all i got my study permit in aug 2013 i came to canada in september.I was admitted in royal roads university in 4 years BBA.yesterday i came to victoria yesterday i didnt find any accomodation near my uni so i am worried and wasted alot of money in hotels taxi and food.I dont like the university.I dnt want to study here.Coz i dnt anyone here.My sister lives in Alberta so i decided to study there.They can look after me.My question is will there be any problem in study permit coz i am going to join janurary semster.??? My university said that they will refund my fees that i paid in advance before coming to canada which is of 1st semster.I want to submit it in alberta college.Will there be any problem?? Pls experts im in a real problem right now pls reply i am waiting from 2 days to get my answers but not yet plsssssssss

Schools share their information with CIC. If you withdraw, there is a chance CIC may ask you to leave Canada. It would be ideal to stay and study at Royal Roads until December and then switch schools in January.

that says u can change college ..do u have admission to other college in alberta? if u drop out this sem then u may violate ur study permit condition of being a student.

Changing schools is not a problem and is allowed.

The problem you face is that you just arrived in Canada, you want to drop your current school immediately and then you want to wait until January to start studying again. To CIC, this might look like you just used your student visa to get to Canada, dropped out of school because you never planned to study, and are now working illegally.

The best way to change schools for you would have been to drop out of Royal Roads and to start at your new school immediately (this month).

u should continue studying here till jan or the next intake....if possible transfer some credits later to the new college

I applied today and will recive acceptance letter from other school in a week in that time im not droped because the uni said to show the acceptance letter of other school then we will refund the fees.will that be fine??

is that new offer for fall 2013? u should not discontinue a term ...u have to be studying in fall 2013. so if the new college is offering fall 2013 admission then u can go to the new college....if the new admission is for jan 2014 then u should continue fall term here in ur present college and then go to the new college in jan.

What you do is your choice.

If you want to make sure you have no problems with your study visa, then stay at Royal Roads and study there until December - then switch schools.

If you want your fees refunded, then go ahead and do that. But then there's a chance you could have problems with your study visa and be asked to leave Canada.

Again, your choice.

Ok bro thnx for the help.please make sure that in december i can change and go over there coz i will already have an offer letter.Will that b fine??credits will be transfered or not? i just dont want to creat problems in visa.Thats all i hope u understand :|

You'll have to speak with your new school to find out if any credits will be transferred. Sometimes you can transfer credits and sometimes you can't. It's up to each school to decide.
