hi all,

Pls help, i need some advice..

my stay permit is about to expired next June 08th 2012. and i have applied for Visitor extension and sent it last March 26th (about 2months before its expired).

now the problem is, the current status that shown at CIC website said the processing time took 45days, they still doing application on March 12. I'm so worried it wont make it on time. and my flight ticket also will expired next month. i'm so confused.. if i go back to my country before my permit expired and abandon the visitor extension that i already applied is it going to give me bad record and give some problem when i re-entry to Canada? ???

currently i'm holding multiple entry visa, which is allowed me to re-entry canada.

i know about "the Implied Status" but if i wait until the decision been made. my flight ticket will expired and i have to buy another ticket, but how about if not approved??. ??? how long should i prepared my departure ? is anyone having same experience like me? or anyone can give me advice plss..... what should i do.. :-X

thanks for any replies.. really appreciated..

I went through the exact same thing as you did, although I left before my the decision concerning my Visa Extension was decided. No matter what you do things will be fine, especially considering that you sent in your application much earlier than I did.

To answer your questions:

If your Visa expires, as far as my experience was concerned, you will be able to stay on Implied Status until a decision is made, although I am not sure how long you are given to leave the country if the extension is denied.

If you go back to your country before the Visa extension is made final you should be fine upon re-entering the country unless some drastic changes that would affect your eligibility to enter the country.

I essentially did the same thing you did and am back in the country with no problems whatsoever. If you have any more questions or concerns please post them here, I'm sure some of the senior members will be able to chime in with more accurate information :)
