Hello,

I am going to send my application tomorrow so I have paid online application fees today to sponsor my wife and CIC sent me an Official receipt of payment. I was advised to send CIC the receipt but in receipt they wanted me to mention a cliend ID.I am not sure because myself or my wife don’t have any client ID yet with CIC.
In the receipt should I write my address as a sponsor?
In the checklist it says that if you are paying using the internet,copy 2 properly completed of the Receipt you print from our website.

What does this copy 2 mean? Do I really need to send a Copy 2 (???)?

We didn't include anything under the Client ID (its a generic one-fits-all receipt). You'll get one later so leave it blank. And just print a copy of the receipt. We used my sponsor's address since he made the payment. ;)
 
As far as I know, the address is the one where the money would be refunded to, should that become necessary. In short, the address isn't that relevant.
 
We paid online and our receipt does not say "Copy 2" either. I think maybe you get 2 out of 3 triplicates when you pay at a bank or something like that. Don't worry simply include a printed copy of that in your submission.

I got my receipts today and I know the answer to this question now!

When you order the receipts to pay at a bank, they mail you a page with copy 1 at the top, perforation, and copy 2 at the bottom. Copy 1 is customer's copy and Copy 2 is Immigration's copy.

Since you paid online, you won't have this. Just mail your whole receipt.
 
Thanks so much for your advice.but should I write my name ,my DOB and my address (as a sponsor i paid the fees) and leave the client ID blank??
 
Yes, if you don't have a client ID, leave it blank.
