Hi,

I am applying for study permit, Can i file my PR at the same time. I had people say it doesnt matter, the visa officer knows your qualified for PR , so if he rejects your visa it wont be based of cause you applied for PR.

i have masters from US university with 8 years experience from US with CLB 7 overall.

Please let me know

It might definitely turn out to be a rejection if you apply a PR along with your SP, as you are giving the VO to be curious and suspicious.

But on the exception of having a complete/convincing documents for SP MAY bring contemplating of the VO to want to approve your SP app and reject your PR app

SP is a process and time consuming type of Visa. If you apply for SP and got approved, depending on your program year(s) you can apply for a PGWP(if its 2yrs program you get 3yrs and 1yr gives you 8months) then later before applying for a PR

In my opinion, I will advise you to apply for just SP and let process honour's its due
